How do you balance the three? Gym before or after work? Anyone work shift work? Supportive family/wife/GF/BF/Husband....(yougetit!) Is work physical and takes a toll or do you have an office job,retail,etc.? Is sleep a problem or drinking? Just curious on what others deal with.

get's difficult but i've been making it happen for many years now.
gotta be at work hella early so i'm at the gym by 5ish am.
hate lifting at night won't do it.
pack all my food up the night before so i can make a clean break in the A.m
job is definetly physical so can be difficult after a good workout, but much easier than trying to lift at night

Im opposite. Cant work out early unless its just warm up and cardio. I work shift work so my schedule is all out of wack. Usually on nights I work out before work around 2pm. When i work days around 7-8pm. On days off when ever I get there. Dont get much sleep half the week unfortunately. Mine can be physical half the time but I do get easy days....even naps on the night shift which help me catch up on some sleep, especially with my daughter just being born she has off sleep patterns.

I workout later at night after everyone is asleep.

Best time to go IMO. Me and fiance alternate at night while the other stays home to watch my our lil girl. Shes pretty understanding about it, just she wants to go more than me now. She wants to compete in bikini then maybe fitness.....she started working out to loose the baby weight and just took off with it.

Yep! The only challenge that I have is when it's too late and I get tired because I didn't sleep well the night before.
 
Spartacus I have to ask. Do you have ADD(no offense)? Your post are interesting but sometimes random and all over the place. Just curious.

Yeah been there. She will procrastinate sometimes will have me in the gym late as hell when Ive been up since 4am for work, but since she has school in AM she gets to go first.

I work straight afternoons at my full time job but am always on call for the fire dept, so ideally I wake up eat right away,wait till I need to shit,drop a deucer then go down to my basement and lift. then I cook shower eat etc before work and spend time with my kid.

now im doing some online upgrade courses for firefighting and I should be doing them now,after work yet here I am

Always wanted to set up a place to workout at home. Would be so much more convient when short on time. We dont have basements here but I do have this mini garage I could at least put a bench and maybe powerrack. Could really use the space of a basement.

I tried that, but I found that I don't have the focus that I need to workout at home. When my kids or my wife calls, I tend to put down everything. :)

for me its a great thing,but does take an extra kick in the ass sometimes to do it.

however my only other option is a 20 min drive to a half ass gym that doesnt even have fucking washrooms and is in a store basement turned into a gym. if im paying 40 a month I want a steam room and fancy shit.

so I shopped kijiji got a half rack with a cable system on it with a 200lb stack and 600lbs of plates, various dumbells etc,for 350$ and I have an elliptical,plus my crossfit stuff
 
I wake up at 6am, at work by 8am until around 5pm. Go home for dinner and a little time with the kids, then off to the gym around 8pm. Back home around 10pm, then I usually have a little free time for a movie, cigar, bourbon or two minutes of serving the wife until I go to sleep around midnight. Things like shitting, fapping, and fucking are usually done whenever I can get to it. Meals are pretty strictly kept on a schedule.
 
I don't work out at home but I do work out right up the street at my uncles house. Its .2 miles up the street and no 1 is ever home, its great having it all to yourself.
I hate the gym! I hate the people in the gym! Have you ever seen the " morons at the gym" thread?
It's my uncles house but my equipment.
It was a trade off, I get a nice big basement to workout in and he doesn't have to pay a gym membership anymore.
We got everything you really need.
Bench and rack combination.
You know the kind you pull the bench out raise the bar pins and there is your squat rack.
Dip Machine
Pull up bar
A rack of about 2 dozen solid db's and a rack of interchangeable ones.
Preacher curl
Declined sit up bench
Curl bar
5 foot straight bar with thick grip.
Everything you need to do a decent 5x5.
I would really like to have a cable pull and a peck deck, those are the only things I really miss from the gym.
Unc is talking about an addition late this summer that would give us even more room. So maybe I'll start shopping around the interwebs.

Even when I worked like a slave I still made it to the gym. Always went at night though, didn't feel right in the morning.
Wasn't at as strong and I would get tired during the day sometimes too because work sucked. (late hours)
 
I wo either in the basement at home or in the half ass gym at work. The gym at work makes for a good lunchtime though.

I'm up at 430am . And at the gym by 5. At the bus stop by 730 for work. I got a key to a sick athletic performance gym so we got sleds ropes platforms and all the good stuff.

I am joining a gym again tonight actually, gonna do a modified 5x5 for 4-5 months then hop back on a jiuce like a boss, but being a dad for 3 hours straight gets me flustered and i cant multitask, so i need a gym to get back to my OG life
 
Im a shift worker on 12s, probably similiar to what you do. I work out at 130 or two on nights and off days.7pm when on days. I only work out 3nights a month mon,wed,fri so its not bad. Only work 7 daylights and seven midnights a month.

Yeah that's about my schedule. Between the switching between days and nights, new baby, and my fiance being a full time student shit gets pretty hectic at times.

Good to hear you're getting back at it. I hear ya on the new parenthood stuff....it can be stressfull. I cant remember the last time I got a full night sleep.

shes totally milking it,but Im not worried,ill deny the fuck out of it and if it goes to court ill tell them to test me,ill be clean.

ender-ill win for sure in court,she makes triple my wage, i did tell her however just by me out of the house if thats what she wants,give me joint custody of the boy and thats fine. i also asked for 30 percent less than my share of the house being decent

my jobs physical and life depend on me in some cases so I dont see why its an issue to get a boost

g/f thinks 800 for a cycle is expensive, i thought it was a good deal lol. I used to be carried away with it, now im totally opposite and need to get back in the gym. Just be consistent with at least something imo, maybe not 3 hour workouts 5 days a week
