Will working in a hot construction enviroment hurt my gains?

Hey guys I work in the depths of hell. Las Vegas and 4 floors beneath an unbuilt casino. It averages 105 and around 25% humidity where I work. I sweat non stop for 8 hours as well as climb up and down 12+ flights of stairs all day while carrying loads averaging 80lbs. I go through about 1.5 gallons of water a day before I leave work. So knowing my conditions should I still keep at my 3 days of cardio a week. ( 2 split 30 minute sessions per cardio day - 1 high intensity the other mild intensity)

I am eating 3500 cals a day currently while not on juice and still retaining 12%bf and holding at a steady 170lbs. Im about to start my next cycle(bulking), should I drop the cardio off completely? My diet will change accordingly, but my main concern is all the theoritical cardio I get all ready through out my work day.

The key to cardio is to convert your body from glycogen burning mode to fat burning mode (actually tricking it to convert fat to glycogen in reality)......in its true form cardio=about 70-85 % max heart rate.....(take 220 and minus your age to get max heart rate)

So your "theoretical" cardio at work is actually your body burning carbs for fuel (unless you are keeping your heart rate at a steady 135-150 range)

But if you are looking to bulk anyway, just increase the cals accordingly and save the cardio until you decide to cut back a little.....at 12% bf you can stand a little extra poundage without having to worry about becoming the marshmellow man

you wont need the cardio if your doing that daily

Cremaster Blaster is technically right, however but under your unique conditions you will do fine with out the cardio

I live in the same area of the country as you and get the same amount of cardio each day at work and i don't need any extra cardio outside of work.

Why do you think top BB's don't have jobs??? For someone like me I'd rather make minimum wage, live in the hood, and drive a shitbox than work construction because it would eat up a lot of my training energy. Even a job stocking grocery store shelves in the AC would suck. Just my 2 ccs.

Thank god Im not competing against them or anyone for that matter. Construction out here pays extremely well (over 52.00 per hour for me atleast). So droping the cardio is the best move for me I assume. I am upping the cals to over 5k once im on my next cycle so cals shouldnt be an issue. I am even considering going higher in cals just to make sure I have the room to grow.

I was thinking the same thing.....your body has a huge "potential" to adapt to situations......thats why it amazes me when I see the road crews, sweating their asses off, slinging concrete in the middle of summer and some of these guys are 25-30 percent body fat....

I would think you just want to focus on protien consumption so you don't get your muscles eaten up and replacement of glycogen. Just a thought.

eat and drink as much as you can. honestly hard labor will effect gains to some degree, but dont use that as excuse,,,keep training hard and smarter.

agreed. Keep protein levels high so you body doesn't feed off your muscle.
