Will steroids help?

Hey guys,

I'm 23 years old, 6' 2, and i weigh 150 pounds. I've been working out for over a year and half, lifting heavy weights with low reps. I eat 6-7 meals a day, 2500-3000 calories on non training days and 3500 on training days. As you have probably realized I'm a hard gainer. It took me months of hard work to weigh 155 and only a few weeks to strip it away. I'm tired of working my ass off for little results that vanish almost instantly. My metabolism is the devil and I just want to have decent mass.

I know weighing 175 is probably attainable without steroids, but the goal for me seems almost impossible. I would like to get the edge on my metabolism with a little extra push. So I thought i would consult some expert opinions and see if taking a low dosage of gear would be a good/bad idea to help me reach my goal of 175 (and keep it).

Normally, I'd tell you to give it some more time...to let your metabolism come down a little with age and resist the temptation to start AAS too early. BUT, given that you are six foot two and only 150 pounds....dear God man, you're a skeleton! 12 weeks of test cyp at 250mg/week and proper PCT is something you might want to start researching. Also, you obviously need to eat even more than you already are to compensate for that turbocharged metabolism; you should be eating 3500+ calories EVERY day, not just on training days. Try taking a time-release protein at night before bed too to avoid a catabolic state during the nighttime fasting period. It's an uphill battle for people like you, but proper planning and determination can overcome it. Good luck.

First off you're either lying about your 6-7 meals a day, or I don't know what's wrong, but I know you're not eating enough, and secondly if you cant put weight on with food, steriod's are not you're answer. Post up you're diet and be truthful about it.

no no no no no...
what you are eating is what i cut on... and im a competitive powerlifter in the 148 class...
very simply, you dont eat enough... it ultimately dosnt matter how often or when, but i would say start off at 4000 and as you can build up your appetite, try to get even more...
now, you still may be eligible for a cycle to help you along... though there are more questions first... what is your squat, deadlift and bench? or any other big compound lifts you do? you say you lift heavy and that is good... just wondering how experienced you are...

also keep in mind you wont really grow much on a cycle if you cant grow natural... all the juice does is speed up the process...
but it can give you keepable strength gains... see what im getting at?

eat more and lift heavy and hard.. the gains will come. roids are just a temporary bandaid, untlimately like bloke said you will lose it all plus possibly kill your sex drive and motivation in the process when you come off.

grab some creatine, you can get a huge bag for peanuts from NTBM... take it everyday. i bought a bag like 6 months ago and i still have a ton of it on my counter and i use a spoonful everyworkout. also consider some other supplements to boost your test levels naturally. and like said above lots of whole foods.. believe it or not complex carbs are your weapon of mass BUILDING. i call them WMB's. you can eat all the protein you want, but you need complex carbs. brown rice, oats, sweet potato, ezekial bread, wheat pasta's, rice pasta.

your genetics might be poor which means you gotta work that much harder than others to be successful in this sport. dont even think about AAS till you are 200 pounds at your height

you need to learn how to eat so that you gain naturally. dont follow other diets learn to follow a diet that will work for you. start adding 1000 cals a day for a week at a time until you are putting on some fat. that is what you need to be able to maintain consistently before you touch steroids or you will not get much out of a cycle. once you learn how to maintain that caloric intake and are adding muscle and some fat you need to do that for a few months if not longer than you can revisit the idea of a cycle.

Ok, is it just me or are there too many people in there teens and early twenties in these forums who are looking for a quick fix? A year and a half? Really? I have been working out for 12 years and just got into into the game a couple of years ago. I find it hard to believe this "kid" has reached his natural potential...

What everyone else has said...EAT MORE!

Everyone throws out numbers like 2500-4000 calories when in reality, based on what I have seen, people are guestimating and their actual caloric intake is more akin to 1700-2000 cals a day.

Its fucking simple...eat enough, your body has to do something with the excess. Research GOMAD, it really helped me back in the day if your not to much of a pussy to do it.

gallon of milk a day does wonders for extra cals and protein I get the lactose free kind and drink a large cup with every meal and shake I make also nothing put on weight for me faster then peanut butter one massive spoonful added to every meal will do you good

At 6'2" and only 150lbs, might be time to go see a doctor and get your thyroid checked out.

Either that or you got a tape worm. lol I agree you might want to go get some blood work done. Whether you decide to cycle or not! and eat, then eat again, till you cant eat no more........

You guys are acting like at 150 im a holocaust victim. I mean sure im no 250lb'er , but i dont look like a anorexic super model.

now add peanut butter and milk to every meal and see how much you gain in 4-8 weeks then cycle ;)

Sounds a lot like a guy who posted a few days ago and got shut down. Im going to tell you the same thing I told him, if you dont learn how to eat and train to gain size naturally than any size you gain from AAS will be quickly lost so I think its a total waste of your time. You need to learn how to gain some mass naturally so you can apply that when you cycle and keep your hard earned gains.

you have a lean base from scratch. but it looks like you do not work out very often or at all... and i'm not saying that to be a smartass, I am just being honest.

I think besides the food situation that needs to be fixed you also need to head over to the weightlifting section and do some reading... find a good split and hit the weight room hard 1 hour everyday. heavy sets with heavy weights. workout your entire body ESPECIALLY your legs, build a strong trunk

I was 6,1 and 145 pounds until my early 30's. I worked out everyday for months, getting a little stronger, but never much bigger. I could eat anything, and did. My metabolism at 41 is still kicking ass. I swore there was no way I needed to eat more. My diest was not the problem. This went on and off for years. same result. Guess what? The problem with my diest wasn't so much quantity, but quality. Sure I needed to eat even more, but my protein intak was way low for someone with that fast of a metabolism. If you dont get enough calories, what little protein you eat is burned as fuel. I hated to admit it but yup, diet. Once I got that dialed in, wow. I didn't need steroids even though many thought I was using them. Without gear, I got up to 220 lbs and the strength was even better yet. Keep an open mind, as much as we think we have something just right, at least be willing to consider it. The good new is, once you do find the answer, you will be in for a satisfying ride. Ahh, the good ole days, I miss that part of my lifting.

Add more calories. Eat eggs every day. Snack on nuts. Use more olive oil. Take 2 BIG BLASTS every day.

Then get back to me if you haven't added any mass.
