Widowmaker squats - what weight?

Holla,

I seriously neglected my legs for a while there. I been doin widowmakers every 3 days for about 6 weeks with considerable results. Will probably switch to a 5x5 as the kinda frequency I am squatting is not good long term.

Im just wonderin' what other Bro's squat for a widowmaker?

I have worked upto almost 300lbs, which I am kinda happy with considering the poor wheels.

I used to do those many years ago when I was in high school. My best weight back then was 195 for 20 reps. 300 lbs is awesome!

My last DC blast i worked up to 285. My goal is to be able to do 315 by mid Feb or so. I'm 6'4" and have always hated squatting until the last year or so. I came to the realization that since i hated it so much it would probably be the best thing for me to do.

5x5 is great to bring up the wheels. I saw it as a way to get lots of practice squatting. I think you'll really like it.

about 5 years ago i did these for a couple workouts and got 275, and puked lol. I was only 175-180lbs though so i thought that was pretty good. Now i think after a few weeks of them i would be around 385-405

I wanna get back to doing them. My best was 315 for 20 in like 45secs but it was more of a speed thing, wasnt doing extremely deep reps and taking any rest.

I used to have a day where I just did shit I didn't like. Sticking to it I put a little over ten pounds on in about 8 weeks completely natural. The majority were leg excercises and the major one was sqatting itself. I agree with the idea of the shit you least enjoy doing in the gym usually yields the quickest most dramatic results.

That would be very impressive

When I was training DC my squat widow always stayed around 90 pounds less than my work set of 6-8 and 285 was my best 20 rep effort. For me the twenty rep set was always a somewhat easy and quick set of ten, then I would really have to grind out the rest one rep at a time. These will really strengthen your mental fortitude.

My next goal is to hit the 500lbs squatting and then increase the reps until it gets to be a widowmaker :evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

They say if someone can handle 2.5x is bodyweight for 20 reps, it should be considere a tough mofo!

2.5x for a single is damn good. thats about my max (little over) on squats.
