Wide or Closer Grip on Bench Press

Ok-I have noticed I have a very wide-grip on my bench press. I use this grip because I am 6'4." My bench press max is 350 lbs. I find my chest to be wide, but without the girth I want. Should I try a closer-grip or will I lose strength and put more stress on more shoulders? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
Actually, I believe a closer grip puts less stress on the shoulders. I could be wrong though.

To answer your question, there's nothing you can do but make it grow the way it's growing. It's all genetics man.
 
Close grip is a longer ROM, more shoulder rotation, and works the triceps a tad harder.

What exactly is your chest problem, mg? I'm not understanding what you mean by "width" vs "girth."
 
I'm the same height. I'd say it definitely puts more stress on shoulders and changes where you feel it in the chest. I can't say it works the chest more, however, bc I can't wide bench what I can narrow.
