Ok today was a disaster.. like any other day going to the gym.. heres my exact morning today.. got up at 5:00am.. got ready for college.. ate cereal with milk (homo) and had a glass of water.. then made my protein shake.. put it in a bottle.. got another bottle and put water in it... left for skool at 5:45.. made it there at 6:15.. went to the gym with my waterbottle.. drank water regularly from the waterbottle.. started felling sick in my stomach halfway through.. each time I would progress more and do more reps (i would get more sick with each rep).. so then I Just stopped cuz I couldnt handle it.. walked back to my car.. sat inside cuz I didnt feel good.. drank my protein shake... then I felt like puking... opened the car door and puked 3 times.. felt much better and left for class... ok now im wondering why does this always happen to me when I go to the gym? that ill slowly start getting sick and itll just build up with the more reps I do... and yes this has happened to me before on many occasions.. I HATE IT!

sounds like you might be putting too much in your stomach before and during the workout. diary upsets my stomach when i workout as well, even if its just a bit. try eating something different for breakfast, or eat it sooner if possible. i try and give my stomach at least 30 minutes after just bread and peanut butter.

when your body gets into hard labor, it slows down the digestive system. if there is food that your stomach thinks cant sit undigested (like milk), it will just get rid of it the fastest way possible (like puking). you could be lactose intolerant to a degree as well.

ya im pretty sure your right also.. another guy said im outta shape too.. these 2 reasons must be it.. cuz when I drink any milk or anyhting I get stomach upset.. so I tend to stay away from it as much as possible.. I guess ill just be eatting eggs and peanut butter and toasts before I go to skool.. and then wait a bit and drink the shake..

drink the shake after your workout. wait 30 minutes and see how it feels. i cant cant cant drink a shake made with milk until my body has calmed down and cooled down. you will know after the first few sips if your stomach doesnt want it. good luck man

The milk put a hurtin' on you. Milk takes some time to digest so i would avoid it right before a workout.

you might be lactose intolerant. do you get these same upset stomachs if you eat any type of dairy products? if so, this would be a good indication of being lactose intolerant. you could always go to a doctor and they could tell you. next time you buy milk, look and see if they have a milk product called "Lactaid." this is a milk that is lactose free. (if your stomach problems are cause by dairy products, it is the lactose that is in them.) try this milk out, and see if it helps with your stomach. also, they make some pills (i believe they are called Lactaid Ultra, or something like that) that you can take daily to help with being lactose intolerant. but, try the Lactaid Milk out first, and see if this helps.

excess lactic acid can make you nauseated. couple that with eating too soon before working out and its the formula for regurgitation. :P
