Why does arm growth explode after 200

Anyone notice this.
that anyone who weighs in around 150-200lbs (at lets say 6 foot even) will have arms about 14-16 inches. but the next 50 pounds you put on your arms will put on more than double that size.

Even if my numbers arent exactly right, as it does vary from person to person, it would seem the major arm growth happens after a certain point

why is this?

I HOPE that is true! I am 6'1" and weigh 205 right now with arms slightly larger than 16"...

I want 17 or 18" arms, and if I get to 225, hopefully I can get 17" guns at least.

5` 9" , 180 LBS. 16 inch arms and have been that size for over ten years now. No matter what I did or do, Can`t get them puppies to get one stinking muffy hair bigger. :(

Hey Slavik..... your observations seem to be right on the money and in the ball park.

God.......you guys with the 18 inch hammers really suck. j/k :)

man, i hope that's not true. if it is, i'm completely screwed. i'm 5'6" and 160lbs with 14 1/2" arms. i don't know if being over 200lbs at my height would even look good......

Beast, I don't think you could ever be considered 'one of the little guys' you truly do live up to your user name a Walking Beast! :)

ThanX brother!! Lately I feel like Walking Twig! Guess we all go through that stage to some degree! Being around guys with 20+ shredded arms definately puts everything into perspective! haha ThanX again!

200Lbs at you height would be massive! Its really not all about weight IMO though. Mainly measurements. Its fucking rediculous but Ive been 185 with 16" arms, about 2 inches smaller then they are now and smaller back chest everything. At my slow rate of weight gain, I could easily be 200lbs with 20 inch arms, after maybe a little cutting. Just a guess though. I cant break 185! haha Pisses me the fuck off. Keep growing brother!!!

Give it time and find what works for you, guys. I feel for all the guys in the 15-16" club, because it seems like I was stuck at 16" FOREVER. Arms do not come easily for me, like alot of other body parts. Just keep pounding away and trying different methods until you find something that works.

Im 6'1 and at 260 pounds last year my arms were 21 1\2 inch
i dropped to 238 now using diff diet and my arms r more defined at 19 1/4 ....
There was a time that my arms stopped growing, at that point my trainer told me to try and super set arms ,doing bi's and tri's together back to back 4 to 6 sets with pyramid reps. In the begining it was tuff to get used to , rapid heart beat , heavy breathing, threw the whole routine off but after a month i got used to and it not uncommon for me to gain 3/4 of an inch a month......they just wanna grow.....ive used the routine ever since and now im beginning to c that i need to change somethin cuz i dont respond to it as well as i used to .
I recomended this routine to a friend of mine and he gained an inch in a month and a 1/2 the second month ...clean without any juice , creatine and protine only .... u might wanna give it a try pm me ill give u my routine.

Have you been 180lbs for that ten years, also?

Pretty impressive bros.

Never measured before until just now. 166, 5'8.5", 7% BF. 13 inches cold. It's a start.

stats below...

haven't measured pumped yet. i'll take a guess and say that it's about 14" pumped.

i can't imagine myself ever being 200lbs+

i've been a featherweight for as long as i can remember.

I've always had fairly small arms...

Till the past year or so...

for me actually it was the other way around. when i was lighter (and a bit younger too, that may have something to do with it) my arms seemed to grow pretty quick. now i'm kind of stuck at about 16 inches at 200 pounds and a height of 6'2". although they do seem to be growing again.

I have 17 inch arms at 206 lbs 13% BF after only 10 months of training.I don't know what you guys are doing wrong but it sure must be a lot lol

I was told to plan on putting 10 to 15 pounds per 1 inch gain on the arms. I am trying to shed some bodyfat now so it will be interesting to see if this holds true in the future.
