flowers are a waste. for the same money you can buy her something she can always keep or treasure or need. even one rose and a card that says what you want to say is better than a whole bouquet IMO.

I never have but I've always thought it was nice. I'd rather get them for no reason than to get them because someone feels some sort of obligation.

I beg to differ sir. It's the cash that matters. With most americans in debt, Flowers are a bad investment. I'd rather someone give the money to the poor.

If you buy flowers you "feed" the florist and you have a happy wife/GF

If you don't buy her flowers she'll get you to the court and it'll cost you much much more

So, you see, that's not a bad investment

because....

when a guy first meets a woman he likes, he goes through all the cliches, flowers, chocolates, presents, love notes, poems anything just to get into her pants, after which they become unnecessary

it's the little cloud of pleasantness we use to disguise the true nature of man which does not include sending flowers and writing love poems to his spouse so in fact us guys only have ourselves to blame for setting the president
