Why did my ex wife do this?

As her attorney was filling out the temorary orders, there was a box for no unrelated guests of the opposite sex overnight. I said, "I've never had a gf spend the night with my daughter at home but I don't want that box checked because I could have a friend over or something". My ex sticks her tongue out twice as in a disgusting gag me type way. I think she wants me.

It's not uncommon for the soon-to-be or ex wife to want "no unrelated guests of the opposite sex" over. Basically it lets her jerk your chain even if something innocent is happening (i.e. you have your GF over, she drinks two glasses of wine and wants to sleep there instead of driving).

Here's what I'd do... steer INTO the skid. Say, "OK, fine. But let's just go with no guests overnight" across-the-board. First, we don't even know if you (the ex wife) will only seek the company of other men. Second, relatives are even more likely to sexually abuse children than most complete strangers (i.e. everyone has a perverted uncle).

Basically if she wants an inch, give her the entire foot and let her deal with the fallout.

. SHe purposely tries to antagonize me and I'm still trying to figure out why. When I was dating this girl and I mentioned it to the ex for what reason I can't remember, She says, "Oh yeah, that whore from ........" She didn't even know the woman.

Again... she's trying to lay a landmine in your path. I'm sure you have no plans for wild, screaming monkey sex with a casual girlfriend with your kids in the next room. At the same time, there are also legitimate scenarios where someone who is non-related and of the opposite sex may want/need to sleep over. By letting that box be checked, she just equated those two situations in a legal sense.

We've been divorced 7 years, I just took her back to court to get sole custody and child support.

She still wants me. She just wants me to break down and tell her that I can't stand living without her or something like that. Ain't gonna happen. LOL. I have no idea what she thinks. But she does seem to be jealous when she knows that I'm going out with someone in particular.

Do you ever get any decent advice from other members of this board? Or do you just like to have other people gang up on your ex (based on your discussion of her) so that you feel better about the massive mistakes you've made?

I still think the reason (I'm being serious here!) is that she's still vindictive and wants to try to bust him over a casual sleep-over. If you are shooting for sole custody, then the idea of restricting all sleep-overs doesn't help your cause. Instead, you'll need to fight that -- simply say it is not practical for you, with 14 out of 14 days (how courts look at coparenting) to have serious relationships with no opportunities for even "respectable" (Read: No screaming monkey sex) sleepovers.

Biteme, Biteme, Biteme ;) ...you must learn to read between the lines...she probably still has feelings for you, and also I think every woman in some respect struggles with accepting the fact that a man she has been with is now with someone else..even if it was a very bad relationship..maybe I'm wrong, but I think men deal with this better than women...

You have no control over what she does or why she does it. Just ignore her and keep going about your business. But by giving her this much thought, she has declared victory.

Very often you make threads about your ex and whatever else is going on in your life. I just thought I would ask WHY you spend your energy doing that.

Why don't you stop making 19 posts per day and go play with the kid you just got custody of?
