Why can't women and men be friends?

Maturity? you can be mature and still want a romantic relationship with a woman.QUOTE]

You misunderstood what I meant by maturity. Maturity comes into play when one or the other does NOT want a romantic relationship and they can still continue the relationship.

That is all I was talking about. It is not complicated at all, nothing about "players" or anything like that. It is all about honesty, laying your cards on the table and not being afraid to communicate.

That is the true test of maturity.

Don't know I only get along real well with my women friends vs. male friends, except when I screw up and date them, but hey she and I managed to rescue that situation.

Because women will never understand men because they cant deal with the truth, and men will never understand women because women dont even understand themselves

You're too wise for your years.

You're being so one-sided about this. it takes two people to make a friendship, and you are perpetuating the simple minded view that every guy wants to bang every girl he meets.

men wanna get laid, women have crazy expectations.

I was re-thinking this on the way to the office this morning and I remembered the great difference between men/boys and women/girls say from high school say 30 (more or less dependant upon each person).

Most boys look at sex as sex - it's fun it feels good and everyone (orgasm(s) willing) is content afterward.

Most girls look at sex as a way to get the boy to love her.

This only really changes when the girl figures out that sex and love are different things they don't have to have a cause and effect for each other.

So, right that's what I was thinking.

Back to work.

Or, when guys realize that sometimes the trade off of time and effort for sex is just not worth it.

To work indeed.

Ah, my sentiments exactly. I think a lot of that starts when the parents are talking to their children about sex. You know the cliche; "When a man and a woman love each other very much...." That certainly would assist in connecting love and sex early on in a adolescent's mind.

just a thought.
