Now there is an exception to the small dick rule.
If you've got a fast ass car with a resonable price tage, ie. Mustang Cobra or Trans Am, like I used to have.

Exotic cars are works of art, at least that's how I think of them. Even if nobody ever saw me, I'd still rather drive a Lamborghini than a Honda.
I test drove a Viper last year. Once you've felt what 450 horsepower is like, you'll understand why people spend so much money on exotics.

1. You can drive fast, you just need to pick your spots. I get up to 90-100 at least weekly, have had only 1 ticket which I asked for by not paying attention in the middle of the daytime.
2. The fun of the "exotics" as you call them is the brutal acceleration and sheer beauty.
3. Most have a level of luxury and amenities inside that are not found in sub-$50K cars.
4. Handling, Handling, Handling. These cars are so much safer than lesser cars because of the total package- handling, power, and safety features (example Mercedes' brake assist and seatbelt tensioners.)
5. If you have to ask "how much?" or "can I afford it/the payments?" you can't.
