Why are PRO's so weak! Curling 35 dumbells with soi much trouble!

Ok people!


I can't beleive how some people with 20 inch guns are straining under heavy loads of 25-40pound dumbells! HOW is it possible that these guys with such massive guns curl so little? Any ideas? I know I know, the roids. But aren't they supposed to make you stronger as well? How much did the pros curl naturally? 5 pounds??

I have a friend who's been working out for about 3 years now, he's never touched any drugs but eats clean and he can do 3 sets of 10 with 25kg dumbells. That's 55 lb. I couldn't believe it when he told me. I can't even lift that for 1 rep!
Yeah ok I'm just starting out, can't you tell :D
I tried a chinup last night. I almost made it. How embarrassing!!!
 
I could do it too but my form would be the same as 90% of the people in the gym. Maybe he does all of the reps with strict form but I never believe people until I see them do it.

It's good but not amazing bro. I was able to do reps of 5 at 60lbs in one year. I know it's all different for all of us but some natural guys out there can use 100+lbs for dumb bell curls.
 
pros dont do that, i curl from 50-60's with reps, and i am all natural. i knew a guy that was curlin 90's one day at the gym. i've read about some pros curlin 275 on the barbell for about 6 reps or somethin like that

Pros are very strong. my buddy curls 80's for 6 reps with GOOD form and on the easy curl a 45+25lb plate on each side for 6 good reps. his upper arms are about 18.5" I got stronger tris than biceps but I can still take the 65's for a ride with decent form.

I'm sure any half-ass pro can curl with 75-100's. However most those guys curl less for more reps because that will produce more growth (typically).

Pro bodybuilders generally aren't weak. They are very strong compared to the average population but their strength generally pales in comparison to even lower-mid level powerlifters. They use light weight for training photos because they have to hold the dumbbell or barbell in a static position for minutes at a time to get the proper angle & lighting for a pic. And likewise the pics you see of bodybuilders benching 700 & squatting 8-900 are faked as well, wooden or hollow aluminum plates are used with 2 45 lb plates for balance. Dorian was one of the strongest bodybuilders in recent history but he would get blown out of the water at even a mid level powerlifting meet. Then again, Dorian had a much better physique than most powerlifters, its all what you want out of it I guess, maximum strength or a very pretty physique.
