Who's glad/regrets they started using aas before their natural limit ?

The 5x5 sticky in the training forum will explain the kind of training I would advocate. As for my body type, I was a scrawny 140lbs when I started and I dont gain muscle easily

I would wait at least 1 1/2 more years. You can easily put on 20-30 pounds on that frame naturally. Easy if you work on it. I guarantee it. Then start the juice around 165. good luck

My stats are ( don't laugh) 6'2" and 180lbs. I've been lifting again now for two years or so. Started in early 2001 at about 145lbs. I've always been skinny but I did lift weights throughout high school and have always read and tried things over the years, just not from 1999-2001. My metabolism is still fairly high and I usually bulk for short spurts (12 days or so with a week on regular cal. in between to keep the fat reasonable and the metabolism guessing). I eat pretty much whatever I want when bulking, but usually not more than one or two sweet or fat filled snacks per day. Mostly regular food: sandwiches, fruit, shakes, whatever.

I'm a little embarassed that I'm even giving advice as comparitively small as i am. But, I am just getting started. Eating like I do is putting about 5 keepable pounds on per month now that I've figured out what to do(that's after fat is reduced.) From Dec. 2001- july 2002 I didn't gain a pound. Since then (using these short bulking cycles - 4200 aprox/2500 aprox. off on) I've went from 162-180.

I'm wishing you luck, but I think we'll all find that it's just a matter of trying new things until we find what works. Good to see someone on actually asking good questions!

i took my first shot when i was almost 20 yrs old and weighed a measly 160lbs. Now im 23 and im 212lbs at 5'9 and i just started another cycle.i thought i had horrible genetics but i put 35lbs on in one year when i got my diet and training on the same page.

sometimes i wish i never started this habit.10 years from now alot of us will more than likely have serious health problems if we dont have them already.if your gonna juice do it right from the beginning. dont drink alcohol in excess, or do rec. drugs in excess and dont take 17-aa orals every cycle.use the right kidney and liver protection and you will have a longer and healthier life.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread, I have learned a lot from the various posts on it, keep them coming.:)

Damn I've been busy with studying for finals all week.

Yeo, when I started lifting I was weighing in at 140lbs. I was a competitive long distance swimmer, and had been lean all my life. I was hovering around 9% BF when I swam. I started lifting heavy in high school for football. That was one of the worst decisions I ever made, but another story.

So during football, I was about 150 and 17-18%BF. Completely lost my swimming physique and just grew fat. Over the next couple of years I got down to about 162 15%. After my first cycle, I was 170 and around 14-15%. I've waited six months more, and prior to my current cycle, I was 170 13%. I'm now on an 8 week Sust cycle, and expect to end up post cycle around 185.

I believe 185 is going to be my "genetic limit". Although I have a really good frame to build on, my entire family is really small. All my relatives are really small too. You don't see many jacked 200lb 5'5 Japanese guys walking around....or at least I haven't. Thus, this will probably be my last cycle if I get up to my desired weight. In addition, for the sports and hobbies I do, being any bigger is only going to hinder my ability (I can tell that I already sink faster when I go snowboarding) Anyways, good luck bro. Just make sure that you continue to lift hard post cycle, I find it the hardest to continue lifting hard while slowly losing strength.

Shoichi my father's Chinese and I have seen photos of him when he was my age and he was really skinny too. When I started lifting I was 21 and 117lbs, I have managed to get to 135lbs, the way I see it I could bust my ass to put on another 20-25lbs naturally or I coulld take aas, bust my ass and get there a hell of a lot quicker. What do you mean by lifting heavy was the worst decision you ever made ? When I started lifting my self confidence went up and I felt great.

My next question is if I got to my genetic limit with the help of aas, was happy with my weight and then stopped using but kept training hrad and eating right, would I stay at my genetic limit or would I shrink down to the weight I was at before I started using aas ?

It's strange, up until I started lifting weights I was perfectly fine with my body. Now it seems that the more I lift and get into the lifestyle, the more concerned I am about it. Lifting heavy was one of the many bad decisions I made at the time. Being a long distance swimmer, it added unnecessary weight, and tore at my swimming condition. At the time I would have easily landed a full scholarship had I continued to swim. However, I'm perfectly happy with where I am now in regards to that decision.

Your question is surrounded by alot of controversy on these boards. It's my belief that if you are under your genetic potential, then there is no reason that you cannot keep your gains from gear use. This is provided that you eat right, train right, and don't party excessively. You should expect to lose a couple of lbs post cycle, this is natural. If you are past your genetic potential by quite a bit, you will need gear to help keep you at that level.

Yeo I think at age 22 jumping on 250mgs a week for 10 weeks (test only cycle) can't hurt. Just make sure you follow up properly on post cycle. I wish I would have started earlier even though I was not and still am not at my genetic potential at age 27. I am 6ft. and down to 170lbs (recovering from motorcycle accident). I can't wait to jump back on and get my muscle back and I am sure in the hell am not going to wait a couple years..... Good luck
