I just got a bike and was wondering how many of you guys and gals ride? I have never really seen a big buy on a bike before so I am curious to see what you guys have. I just picked up a Kawi ZX-14 yesterday. It is awesome but might be a little much for my first bike.
WHat you guys got?

2 questions: Did you get the metallic silver stickers on after you bought it or did those come from the factory, I have the red and they don't look as good. Did you replace the swing arm or just powder coat it and iu you powder coated it how tough was it to take off?

i have put no aftermarket stickers on there, those are stock......i polished the pegs etc, and had the swingarm powdercoated to match the frame......sort of the harley davidson midnight train look.........and as for how tough it "was" to take off, i don't plan on taking it off so i dont' know, but i can tell you that a sandblaster will make quick work of powdercoating on aluminum

polished wheels huh. should powdercoat them bad-boys black.

Why didn't you powder coat all the Al parts, pegs and hell I even thought about doing the exposed engine parts to, cases and what not and I agree with black rims it would look sweet.

it had black rims on it stock.....i didn't like them.....and they are NOT polished, they are chrome dipped........if i wanted them black i would have left them black......i wanted the chrome, i didn't do it to make you guys like it, i did it to make me like it

they are chrome....and the bike came with black wheels....again, i didn't like them, i like chrome
 
I see more and more riders who buy Big bikes thier first time out. Gixxer 1000's, R1's, ZX-12's and now the 14's, Hayabusa's....some crash...some dont
I think its important to take the MSF safety course though
Me personally I have an 02 Hayabusa Big Bore 1392 Kit and a 05 gixxer 1000. Been riding streetbikes since before I could drive a car( bike license @ 16, car lincense @ 18) my dad made me do it like that....is that weird?

Yeah that class is pretty good. Helps with the test a LOT.

Try doing the figure 8 with a ZX-14.

those are big, fast machines. I think they are ugly personally(of course find a Busa owner who doesnt say that :rolleyes: ) but I wont for a second deny thier stock performance is incredible. 177 RWHP stock? 107 Ft/lbs torque off the floor? gawddamn!!

their ACCELERATION performance is undeniable. the stretch and power combo makes them the ideal drag bike - get me out in the twisties against it and I'll waste it.

oh ya man...i totally agree
the ZX-14 and the Busa are designed for str8 line speed and acceleration. I have ridden both and I feel the busa has the edge on the twisties mainly because of the extra weight up top and the ergo difference. but nothin touches the liter bikes for overall performance(speed,power, looks, and agility)

I would personally take off the plastics and leave them off for a while, until you get more experienced.
Frame sliders would be a good investment right about now
