Who here knows teeth?

OMGWTFBBQ said:
When I was younger, my mom paid a lot of money to have braces on my teeth. When the perfectionist orthodontist lady took the rear bands off, they tore off a lot of enamel. What wasn't torn off got filed down by a rotary sander thing.

Time passed... I got cavities in the side of every single molar. Not through the top, in the side. The dentists told me that is rare.

The rearmost ones are the worst.

After I had my wisdom teeth taken out, the gums receded as they filled in the space from where the wisdom teeth were.

So now I have cavities on the rearmost molars, and the gums are pulling away from them exposing the roots.

The dentist always treats me as if I'm retarded and brush my teeth with brillo and sandpaper, pushing down hard and when not doing that, only eating sand and sugar, after that willing more pain on myself.
Only one dentist has suggested that it was because the tissue was receding back to fill in the space. Even then, he seemed to imply that it was my choice for it to do that.

I brush with a soft brush 3 times a day. At night I floss and rinse with Listerine and ACT.

I fucking hate going to the dentist, but my rear teeth are now causing a dull ache in my head all of the time.

You don't need those molars. You would actually be better off to have them pulled out now before the roots of your teeth get infected. Root Canals and crowns especially in your molars are, in my opinion a huge waste of money. I had a root canal and crown done on my back bottom molars and it lasted all off a year. No money back guarantee on those things either. If you do get them pulled get them all done at the same time or in a close time frame. If you had say the bottom 2 pulled out and not the top 2 you will throw off your bite and your teeth will begin to shift, causing more "pockets" in your gumline where cavities can form.

If you do have them pulled out now, and decide that you feel that you need the molars you can always have "screw in" teeth put in in their place.

Good Luck!!

I just thought of something funny in a sad sorta way..

You are relying on the opinions of "British" Dentist ...

LOL

i had all four of my backmost molars removed (to create space to move my other teeth back with braces). the nitrous made me laugh even as the bleeding fuckers with longass roots were held in front of my face for me to see.

i've gotten along just fine.

As for the drugs, I'm gonna have to pass on that. I have something wrong with me where they don't work on me. I have mentioned it before on here - but when I had my wisdom teeth taken out, it was a total nightmare and the drugs basically didn't work.

I would have suspected that the dentist was trying to dick me over, but I've had problems with the drugs all my life at the dentist.

Fragadelic - thanks - I'll check my PMs - and toga - thank you too!

I was going to call the dentist today, but my day at work turned into a very intense sucky day - so maybe tomorrow I can call the dentist.
