What kind of bar Vanguard?
Charlotte's a hard place to keep a bar open if it isn't the ABC commission breathing down your neck, it's the zoning commission.
One thing's for sure Charlotte needs more clubs for a depleted rock scene, the club scene here is very boring.

You want to start a business because of what boredom? Is a small pub really what you want, or what you would like to own?..... Can't put anything into numbers because it depends on too many different things like location, need, how hard you work....your finances, prayers, and help. You need lots of these things.....be willing to sacrifice your current lifestyle...because your business will be your life until you make it or break it. Be dedicated, positive, and research, everything there is to know and do about your business.....you can never know enough.......because you are the person who may have to do everything....and you will do everything.....there is no one to call into and take a day off........be prepared to deal with babysitting grown adults.......dealing with employees calling you from jail needing to be bailed out.......these are normal issues of being a business owner.....and lawsuits.....taxes.....insurance....etc.....but now after painting you such a rosy picture, the positives of handling these things will give you some financial security, and ability to work your own schedule........Good Luck!

I'm on my fifth restaurant and believe me, it's no cakewalk. I actually cannot believe I did it again. I swore to God I never would do another but I guess it's the only thing I know how to do. If you got any specific questions, email me and I'll try to help.

Re: Gymnpoppa's reply, I can relate completely to everything he says especially the part about babysitting adults and bailing out the help. You will find out real fast that a degree in Psychology will come in handy 'cause you'll need to fall back on it every fuckin' day. Having said that, there is nothing like having to answer to nobody but yourself.

You know, that is just how it is, however, I think all businesses have some or most of these problems........AC/heating comps, the government.....I too have put together 4 restaurants, and now I am just doing the catering thing, but I be damned if I haven't expanded to do some other things....that seem to be spots/holes in the market here.......PM me if you want to know..........what kind of restaurant do you have in FL..........where in Fl are ya?
