Anyone else falling for the dog resembling owner look??

I also have a very obese cat. 22 lbs and growing! lol.

This guy is my pride and joy. He's about 5 lbs. overweight right now because I've been working a lot and the weather has sucked. 30" at the shoulders, 104 lbs., getting a little arthritic (I give him glucosamine and that's been helping), and trained well enough to be in a room of screaming kids pulling at his ears and grabbing his feet.

great post. very true they are all bulldogs. and the original bulldog which was something like a smaller more aggressive american bulldog is now extinct. you ever seen an alapaha blue blooded bulldog. they are fucking sweet 26 inch head, they have coloration like a panda bear. i'd love to have one someday. yea it is true that we could go back and forth all day. i bred staffs and i had so many hardcore people i dealt with tell me different things. one thing is for sure we have to stick together cause its becoming a real bitch to have a pit or a dog that resembles one. in my city you can't really rent if you have an agressive breed. in clevelend my boy has to muzzle his pit/boxer mix for no reason. its bad. yea i know the lock jaw is a myth but i had studied powerful jaws and alligators have i think an estimated 5000 psi, so they estimate 2500 for a pit or bulldog, some give or take. there is no machine that specifically measures.

for the gentleman in texas that is loooking for a dog. go to staffordmall.com, my guy is in new mexico but there is breeders everywhere there. my guys dogs are the shit, unreal temperament, never get aggressive but if they have to defend they will and have the size to do so.

he is a very nice dog. my boy has a johnson bulldog he rocks his world. real simple how to measure its bite, i trained dogs with the best dog trainer in the country. he works with military, police, celebrities. he used a bite glove to determine, his deaf american bulldog had the hardest bite of any dog he had, when roy bit the bite glove he said it was the hardest he has felt. i'll put any bitch ass bulldog on the ground anyday with little rj. now if you have a good 55lb pit then maybe, but bulldogs are too slow for pits and staffies. btw i dont' know where you got your info but the staff was the original pit, made from bulldogs and english white terriers. the breed was made larger when the americans got ahold of it. staffie bulls were bred for royalty in the town of staffordshire way before an apbt had ever been bred. i am aware they are for shows. i got him cause i love him, not cause he is tough, but he has blown my mind with how low to the ground he is and he wins every scrap. i didn't really want to get into a pissing match i was just talking about my dog. it seems pretty stupid to just assume when you haven't been around the animal. my boy has a 45 lb pit in all white and it hangs with the big boys as well.. i am not saying i have the toughest dog around but he has beat down every dog ive had him around, in a friendly way. i went to college and my roomate had a 90lb american bulldog and they wrestled everyday, roy never lost once, so it doesn't really matter to me ive seen it with my own eyes. the only dog i would be afraid to let him near is a giant pit with a 20 inch or larger head. they just look so hard i would never risk it. i am also talking about just play scrapping man, you have to remember that. in a real bloody fight i have no clue. i just mean two well trained dogs playing rough pinning eachother and being dominant but not trying to hurt one another.[/QUO

2500 psi is a myth, just as locking jaws are. Just because some guys says he hits the sleeve harder than any other dog doesn't mean he can tell how hard 2500lbs is. You realize the word bulldog and pitbull are used to describe a type of dog that performs tasks, not a breed of dog. There were many different breeds of dogs used. But they refined the breeds by adding terrier (speculation on what terrier) and bulldogs together to come up with pitbuiltterrier or staffordshire terrier or pitbulldog. Either one of us could read 100 different history pages and come up with a our own speculation. Thats why I said it is partially untrue, both names were used to describe the dog. By the way a pitbull with a 20" head is avg to say the least. The dog in my avi has a 25" head. I have a blue male that has a 23-23.5" head and he's not a monster nor a midget.

Its like the dog is AIDS or something everyone goes inside when I let them out. Its double duty trying to appease everyone so you don't get the cops called on you. I was looking into breadaux's or something like that. They are extremely muscular and look like hootch off of turner and hootch the movie.

yea i am sick of defending the breed. i don't even have a pit, but now there is a list of breeds including staffies, pit mixes all kinds of names that a pit could go through. i for sure want to get a blue blooded bulldog but only like two breeders have them and i want to meet the parents and shit.

i'll never forget my staff coming in. i get them from NM but they are imported from south africa and new zealand. my pup came on a plane mothers day of 01. he was so fucking small, 5.5 lbs and it was all his head. he could hang from a rope by his teeth the day i got him. shouldve been a good 2k with his bloodline and stature but it is a long story and me and my two friends got hooked up with the dogs for 600 each. my two friends had to breed their dogs and give the breeder a pup but it was well worth it.
