I see. I wouldn't hit my child, but that's just me. If you want them to learn, atleast if I was to do this, I would say something to make them feel guilty. This is a feeling that no one wants, an eventually, people do what they will to lose it if they can. Most do. If she acts on it, that could correct the situation.

Thank you for the well-wishes, but if the child did not feel guilty after I had been hung out to dry for many lies she told and how her and her sisters got screwed for same lies then no amount of "guilting" is going to work.

I still have yet to recieve an apology from the child for that. And I dont suppose I will until she is much older and begins to understand what she did.

I dont fault her though. She is a child in a terrible situation. However, she must learn some how.

As I said on another thread, if this does not work, her next move is to boot camp... and she knows it.

Ever stop and notice that during the time periods when ass whoopings were more accepted and noone was afraid of DYFS there were less problems with kids and violence and other extreme problems? I think the problem with a lot of kids these days is they don't get their asses whooped enough when needed.

As I said - were it not for all the custody drama going on and had I been able to discipline the child properly two years ago none of this would have happened.

Now the ex is out of money and both she and her father have run out of "get out of jail free cards" in that, they have told so many lies - no one in authority believes them.

The grounding I gave to mine seemed to be effective. THat's the worst punishment for her, not being able to go out with her friends. She cursed me out the first weekend but when she realized she wasn't going to get out of it, she calmed down. Her behavior has been much better lately. I haven't heard her curse in days. I'll ground her butt again and she knows it.
