I'd say that 90% of all the women I know have cheated on a long term boyfreind (or husband). Only 2 guys I know have cheated.

What boggles my mind is that that the female cheaters I know are basically great people. I mean, they're very moral ladies...but for some odd reason, they fucked around. Without exception, they felt like shit about it. Ask 'em and they couldn't tell you why they did it.

The 2 guys on the other hand, are total assholes who arn't bothered by cheating at all. They move from girl to girl like it's nothing at all. No remorse, no guilt. Naturally, they attract women like flies. :) Ask 'em and they'll tell you (as they've told me) they just like a lot of new pussy.

I can undstand cheating just for sex. I don't approve, but I understand -- maybe it's a guy thing.

Anyway, I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

BTW, no offense is intended to the ladies on the board. I love y'all. :) The above is from my own observations.
 
The question should be who's better at lying and keeping secrets...Men in general tend to brag more and thats what gets us into trouble...

now, on a side note...anyone notice a small double standard between men and women cheat? if a man cheats on his wife hes a sex crazed unaffectionate monster. If a woman cheat on her husband, her husband was not "on her emotional level" or he wasn't sensitive enough to her needs! what kinda bs is that! its like play the victim because your female!....also i think Lifetime Television *the TV station* should either be banned or guys should have a female bashing equivalent....have you ever watched that station? i mean come'on ....MAN BEATS WOMAN, WOMAN GET THE STRENGTH TO LEAVE OR FIGHT BACK, WOMAN > MAN...... :rolleyes:

Statistics show that guys are twice as likely to cheat then woman. But being a man and knowing that most polls are taken by women, make me thinks that these polls are fixed.
 
it my personal experience working as a bouncer in bar's and niteclubs for over ten year's that women cheat alot more than men.
If a woman has a fancy for a guy, she'll let nothing stand in her way. If I have a chick coming onto me, no matter that I tell them I'm happily married 12 year's now and have two children, they still want it. And who am I to refuse and hurt their feelings, lol.

Well, I factored in a 4% margin of error. So I suppose it could be as low as 86%. Feel better? :D

Seriously, the women I know who've cheated reallly do feel bad about it -- we're talking massive depression and guilt here. Generally tho, they only do it once and learn thier lesson. Who knows why they do it in the first place...? They sure don't.

seriously...if they expect their partners to keep it in their pants, they should try and control their urges too. woman have almost complete control in a pick up situation, if a chick doesnt 100% wanna hook up with some guy and she brushes him off he's got no chance.

i suppose its better they do feel some guilt over it otherwise id be more worried, and at least they 'say' they wont do it again

(btw we are talking about wives cheating on hubbies here....or v.long term bf's, unless their relationship is purposely open, then i dont see any excuse)

bad people in general cheat. Men and women, and its really one of the most degradeing and painful acts one can direct to another human being. I have always said that when you agree to comitt yourself to one person, who owe them a certain level of respect. If your feelings begin to waver, then sit down and be honest with your partner. But when you choose to cheat, you have choosen to intentional hurt a loved one, which is pretty sick.

Married chics in their 30's are easy to bag. They play me like a cheap banjo (they think;)). Not something I'm proud of but that's been my experience of late.

I'm 100% true to my g/f, but, at the bar I work at, married women are throwing themselves at me, at least, once a week. All the hotties on a "girls night out" away from there b/f's also throw themselves at me. I think it's gross. A relationship means devotion to each other, not every one else. Unless of course, those are the terms of the relationship, you know "we see other people" kind of stuff. The swingers at my bar are the most laid back people, they're weird, but laid back. Anyway, at my bar, it's the women, alot of them too. It's wrong to cheat. Especially when married. What's so F$@!ing great about you, over me, that you get to have extra partners? Nothing, because if those arn't the agreed terms of the relationship, it's wrong. Someone is being taken advatage of and hurt. Don't do that to someone you "love".

When women cheat it usually stems from emotional issues (i.e. hubby paying no attention, commitment issues, low self-esteem, etc). Rarely will a woman cheat just for sexual gratification. They simply aren't geared that way.

A man, on the other hand, will cheat on his gf/wife simply for the sake of sex itself and the ego ramifications that follow (read my signature).

The issue of "Who cheats more often?" is really irrelevant. The twisted part is, as VictusDeus said, women are typically better deceivers. A man with a high propensity to cheat is much easier to identify than a woman with the same capability to be unfaithful.

And this isn't me bullshitting either. I've been cheated on and I've done the cheating too (although not both in the same relationship) so I speak from, at least some, experience.
 
Who knows why people cheat, I am many things, but I am not a cheater. :) Maybe it is an emotional thing... people sometimes don't get enough emotional attention, so they look for it elsewhere... perhaps sex with someone else is this outlet... they feel horrible afterward because they didn't get that emotional satisfaction and they feel guilty about cheating on their partners.

I think that the people who cheat need to just grow up. If you're not happy in a relationship just admit it to your partner and either work on what's wrong or go your seperate ways. Too many people want the comfort of a relationship, and the excitement they might find elsewhere. Well guess what! You can't have both without causing a lot of pain to the people that you are supposed to love.

I've been cheated on, and it's no fun. You spend all your time trying to figure out what you did to cause their cheating. Then one day you realize that it wasn't you, it was your girlfriend that betrayed your trust and didn't respect you enough to be honest.

Cheating feeds the ego in men.

Cheating is the response of the emotionally-constrained female.

It's about that simple.

Mother nature disagrees with you.

Evolution has designed us so that the stronger, more fit, more adaptable of us are capable of contributing more to the gene pool than the weaker of us.

From that standpoint, the promiscuous male or female will have more lasting implications on the genetic profile of a given species. Streamlining if you will.

Doesn't say much for monogamy does it?

Sure it's morally weak to lie and deceive but that's relative. What's wrong to you is perfectly acceptable to another person, culture, religion, etc.

Mother nature has supplied us with the only absolute truths. You don't argue with the laws of gravity, the persistence of time, or the structure of the carbon atom...they aren't opinions and they aren't subjective like every other principle dreamed up by the human mind.

Yes, you're right...some species do mate for life but they are the exception rather than rule.

I don't need to re-read what you posted. I understood it the first time. I was just stating a fact. I didn't mean to piss you off.

As for me evolving...well I'm trying but not having opposable thumbs really fucks with my efforts.

yes but statistics also show that a married man that cheats will only do it one or two times in his life where a married woman that cheats will do it more then five times.


The way I look at cheating is this---if my wife cheated on me, what in my makeup would let her lead to believe that she could do this to me.....You see all the time woman on TV crying over there man that cheats on them...well why do they attracked such men? And how can they blame it on them....and vice versa for man....
 
What if you are one week out of surgery...had some feelings for a chick and than you met up with her at a Pub and she made out with another guy. And she knew you had feelings...

1 week out of surgery, FUCK.

Ahh well. More girls cheat once. Less guys cheat all the time.
