Who Carries a Gun?

I live in Alabama and have a conceiled carry permit...All it requires is the $20 license fee and not felonies on record...LOL and i think that is even up to debate in this state.. My carry weapon of choice is a Colt Defender .45 caliber with 200 grain GoldDot +P ammo.. Soon to be in my arsenal will be a Taurus Raging Bull 454 with a 6.5 inch barrel...

used to......my permit expired...gotta renew that.

Smith and Wesson 5906 9mm, Nickel Plated....10 round magazine filled with Hydrashocks....

i wouldn't mind having a Sig though....good guns.

whoops....i lied.

i have the 6906....smaller model with the semi-concealed hammer.

i think the 5906 is the full sized service model.

For .45's...

Sig P220 looks like a cool gun... But isn't the mag cap only 8? Glock21 carries like 13 yeh?

What do you recommend for LE, Manny?

The SIg P-220 is a single stack mag, just like 1911's. While Glock is a double stack, like most handguns today. Some prefer the 1911 cause of its slime grip, smooth handling. Personally I dont mind.

Now for LE I have my opinion, which may offend many 1911 fans: this gun/concept is not a smart choice for LE. Why ?

- single stack provides only 6-8 rounds. You better go with a revolver which has more stopping power (cause of its mag. calibers) and more reliable.

- single action for LE is crap and also forbidden in many agencies.

- While the .45 ACP may be a good choice for home protection, it's lacks what it takes to be the perfect LE caliber. .40 S&W and .357 sig. have better ballistic performances, with a moderate recoil.
