White people, have you ever said something racist and be willing to admit it?

I know I have said racist things that I really didn't mean. Most of the time when I say something racist, my comments are really about one person in particular that did or said something that made me mad.

Do minorities forgive us for these verbal slip ups?

im only half white but ive said many racist things usually its not directed at someone like calling a black person a N.... for like no reason or even for pissing me off.

Last year I was in my friends dorm. About 3 of us and 3 others in the dorm next to us. We were playing Halo on a LAN. One of guys in the other dorm was black and he keep on running in our room calling us crackers when he played well. It was all in good fun, we were laughing and joking. As I was playing he me killed on some bs and I got mad (not actually mad just gameplay mad) and said, "you stupid nigger!" I meant it as a joke, honest. Well since he was in the other room he couldn't hear me but the dorm I was in, but his suitemate could. This guy is like a 6'5" 260lb, he plays on the USC football team and the worst part he is black. He was apparently reading (or masturbating) in his room the whole time while we were playing. After I said it all I hear is the bathroom dorm SLAM! I looked at my friends, realized it wasn't them then it came to me, the huge black guy that I never see is here and heard me say that. OMFG, I was scared. Not like, haha he heard me. More like, I'm gonna get raped. Luckily he never came into our room and since his door was closed he couldn't pinpoint that it was me who said it, whew.

Sometimes I will make negative comments about the people I come into contact with daily and since I live in a large city the majority of the people are minorities.

For instance, if I am talking to a friend about a tenant I ran into during the day I will say something like, "... and this stupid mexican waited an entire week before telling management that his toilet was broke." I don't consider that racist, since the person I am talking about is, in fact, mexican. I'm not implying all mexican's are stupid.

Or, you might catch me talking about "all the black people on the corner selling crack" which is common on my block in the city. I don't mean all black people sell crack, but if you walked down my street you will see a lot of black people selling crack so, again, it is just a fact.

Now, if someone wanted to talk about me and say "hey, that irish kid is a moron" I wouldn't take offense to the fact he called me irish, since I am (the moron part is another story). If he called me a mic or a paddy, then I would be mad since it's a derogatory statement to all irishmen.

of course I have. Not proud of it, but I have.

When I was a stupid ignorant teenager living in LA, me and my buddies used to drive by the construction sites and scream out "La Migra!" or if we drove by some gang bangers we'd scream the "N" word out at them. Don't know why, I've NEVER been racist. It was stupid and I am ashamed to admit it, just being honest.

oh yeah. it's hard not to with all of the comic stereotypes out there.
I might say something of a stereotype nature in a comic sence, but nothing really hatefull.....

However...

The city, or large town to some of you, that i work in, it is "thick" of thug/gansta wannabe's that would shit their own pants if left in compton.
The crime and violence in the parts of town that they live in is so bad, that it's hard to not think or say something....

Eh, you'll have that. Part of life. We'll never see ourselves as equal.
