GALAXY....
How long did it take your body to get used to the strenuous work load of doing a MWF split.. I can handle back and biceps in the same day, but chest shoulders and triceps are heavy heavy groups.. What did you find that helped you keep your strength up throughout the workout?

Well....lots of drugs for one.........and i would only do behind the neck presses for shoulders , sometimes upright rows and every so often i would throw in laterals just for sake of hitting all the heads and doing a whole shoulder workout................Sometimes id even skip shoulders a week here and there.

Yea, I wasn't going to comment but I did notice your delts were looking a little flat in your avatar... LOL

You are the spokesperson for the "more is not always better" rule... Now that Im off, I am really considering starting that split...

Thanks..

Galaxy, what muscle groups do you do on M/W/F
Could you please elaborate? I wanna be a beast too! :)
How much time do you spend in the gym on those days?

Yeah, I also dont really work shoulders and traps. Only thing I normally do for shoulders are rear delt exercises (and maybe upright rows once in a while), and I cut out traps completely for symmetry reasons.

That said, I normally just work my bodyparts once a week. But I'll often hit triceps (and sometimes biceps) twice since Im trying to bring those up a bit.

once. no matter how much gear i'm on. i know a prat who hits the gym every single fucking day, and will always include arms each workout. he is so damn boated, looks like a 1960s hot air ballon, and the worse thing is, he thinks he looks good.

If you're interested in working your body once a week check out the 5x5 routine (you basically work your whole body 3 times a week, M/W/F). I saw some pretty crazy strength gains running it.

i can't train a bodypart twice a week. i destroy my target area with each workout i don't have enough time for recovery

Steroids aid in faster recovery. So potentialy you can train your bodyparts more than once a week. By the way I do target all areas hard; Sometimes while on I can workout twice a day with no problems

yes i know they aid in recovery i have tried the twice a week thing and i can only do it for so long before i start to have pains in my tendons.when you say twice a day i assume like bis in the morning and tris in the evening not the same bodyparts

Once a week is all I can muster- I do a M/W/F split and it is a bitch. I do all the basic movements. Squats,Deads,Bench,Militarys,Chins. Everything to failure in the 5-7 rep range. Everything being done w/ free weights (except push-downs, but that is it!)
M - Legs/Abs. W - Chest/Shoulders/Tri's. F - Back/Bi's/Forearm

You get used to the intensity I think as I am only in week 5 of this. I used to train 5 on 2 off w/ each day getting a body part. I have had much better gains on this new program, but I have also overhauled my exercises - I was not doing deads and was not training to failure as a rule. I may look like a fool getting stuck down low and walking out from under the bar while squatting - but that is failure baby!

Twice a week. I chart progress so I can see the results. I also pay attention to any signs of overtraining such as sleep problems.

do you lift to failure or more of a high volume routine

Tru thats what I meant.

so wut do u do if u have coaches like me and they say u have to work out 2 times a day for 4 days week in summer.... they want me squating 500 benchin 380-400 and PC 270..im 17 by the way.. 6 3 and 215 ..play middle linebacker .. u think that is to much ?

It depends on your goals and current stats. If you`re not looking for size you may do it twice a day just to speed up your metabolism, burn fat and stay in great shape. Not so many people can afford it though. If size and strength gains are important to you then Id recommend to train your body parts once per week. no need to train more often, you need time for full recovery and time to grow as well.

I would be willing to bet that most newbies who get AAS for the first time overtrain and negate half of the good effects of them. They will typically add tons of work thinking they will gain more due to being on cycle.

it is awfully time consuming working body parts more than once a week. gotta consider burnout too.

when on juice find myself breezing thru workout but dont feel the need to do as many sets of different exercise for same body part. dont have have to still grow. i  steroids. i am addicted.

Well I remember I`ve been doing chest and guns ed 5days per week when I started! :) And I was under impression this way I could get bigger faster! :)

In all seriousness you do add at least some volume to your workouts - don't you? I do. Not by that much but I'd say I'm under the weight for an additional 25 min a workout.

yeah every gym has a couple of guys doing that

I do roughly the same workouts on Monday as I do Thursday, and on Teusday as I do Friday. So I train every body part that I hit, twice a week.

This seems to give me enough physical straign on the muscle, coupled with enough recovery time to make decent gains and hit my goals effectively. :coffee:

Off or on I do
chest+tri's,back+bi's,shoulders+legs I go 6 days in a row then one day off, when I am on the workouts are around 1:45 when I am off 1:10-15. I have been doing this workout scheme for 3 years now and love the results. Just when I am on I throw cardio 3x week also. If I am cutting, if not I don't do cardio.

Yeah there's two or three little runts at my gym (don't look more then 120lbs soaking wet) who show up every night for about 45 mins working their way around all the cable machines hitting every muscle in their body. I remember last week we got there at same time and I started working out tris and looked up when I got done and they were already headed out the door. Idk why they waist money for a membership every month when they do shit like that. Once I got done with back and bis and had a good pump going on and they came up to me asking what all they could do to get big and I lined them out on basic shit leaving out AAS of course. Next day they were back to the same routine. Just lazy I guess

I've had good results training each body part 3 times per week on and off cycle.
I've achieved this following an HST training plan.

Check out HST Training.
I've been following these principles for year's and therefore train each body part 3 times per week on and off cycle.

im doing wendler 5/3/1 with assistance work so basically each body part gets hit 2x a week.. once heavy once a bit lighter.. give or take

So yeah protein syntehetic are increased while ON but why would you then give a mucle group and intire week to recover? shoudent you be able to hit the muscle harder and more often "volume" due to protein syntetics and recovery speeded by roids?
