ok, im looking or an external CD re-writer, and there are quite a few with a similar price range

the ones that leap out in terms of brand name and price are

iomega 48X24x48 (24x the re-write speed) i think there own brand software comes with and its USB 1.1 and 2.0

Freecom classic 52x24x52 only USB 2.0.....i think all freecom stuff comes with a 2 year warranty but this one doesnt mention it, cable supplied

Freecom FS-1 8x8x24 USB 1.1. and 2.0, 2 year warranty, nero software instead of their own stuff and can connect to a variety of slots. is also the smallest CD rewriter in the world (1.7cm/0.7'' high), apparently. and has its own portable power module which has 6hrs juice in it. slightly more expensive than the others , but not by much. definately a 2yr warranty on this one

Freecom FX1 24x10x40x most expensive, no details aout software or cables

which sounds best....the freecom classic is the oldest o the freecom models but the fastest of the ones listed. should i go for whichever is newest or whichever is higher spec? the FS-1 (8x8x24) is super small, looks cool and seems easiest to use from what they say but the burning speed seems slow....you reckon its gonna be worth getting it

and whats the difference between USB 1.1 and 2.0.....do the connectors look different or something? never bought a burner before so i could use some help

and it HAS to be external :D

ahhhh :)

may i ask why you choose iomega?

the freecom classic is 52x24x52, but its only USB 2.0 (as opposed to both) and is chunky. it has a 2yr warranty

the iomega looks nicer though. much much nicer :)
