Where to learn more...?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to learn more about food and nutirtion. I know about the glycemic index and things like this. More specifically what happens to the body as far as insulin levels, what happens when u combine foods, what gets digested first as part of a meal - stuff like that.

I'm looking for something thats fairly technical (i would imagine it would be at least). Maybe a medical journal or a good web-site or book.

Depends on the topic. The more technical the more specific the topic would be. What are you wanting to study specifically?
 
well.... i was thinking of something in depth, more of the why's i guess. IE: when ingesting a meal of carbs, protien, fat, sugar, and "what ever else (doesnt have to bodybuilding specific)" - what gets digested first and why and what effect does i have on insulin release, gycogen storage.... things like this.

I can look on the net and find all about the GI and how many calories are carbs/protien/fat so something more specific --- if that helps?!
 
I'd would try to narrow your research to Insulin and what roles it plays in human physiology. I would also check your school's internet database of Scholarly articles on the subject.

Oh got ya. Well I guess you're going to have to snoop through every article you can google on Insulin then. Sorry man. I'm sure the library might have some interesting info there too.....after all, it is a library....
