I will be moving soon and will have a basement that I'm thinking of finishing off and making a nice little dungeon for me to lift in. I know of a few local stores that sell equipment, but was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to look online. Not sure where to put this thread, but since I'll be running eq/test/tbol/var, I figure here is a good spot.

I ordered from Eric's Gym at http://equipment.ericsgym.com/index.htm and bought a power rack, adjustable utility bench (Xodus utility bench inc/decl/flat, leg ext, leg curl, sorry assed preacher curl imitation), and olympic weight tree for around $530. Shipping is free on everything and all was delivered promptly.

The rack I got is not the best by any means, but for $300 it has 18 adjustment holes, a chinning bar, 10 year waranty on frame, and is fairly strong and straight-forward to put together in a small amount of time.

The Xodus bench I got has its good and bad parts like the caps on the sides of the leg pads pop off constantly and the immitation removable preacher curl attachment isn't that great. However, the bench itself is very solid with thick steel and can hold up to 800 lbs. The bench was $200 and was a step up from that $139 joke one they have.

I bought all of my olympic plates from walmart (except for 2.5 lbs olympic plates that I got really cheap from dumbbellbuddy.com) along with a ez curl bar, 7 ft olympic bar, and gold's gym adjustable dumbbells that also hold olympic plates on them. The dumbbells are awesome because they came with the ez curl bar with complete set of collars for all and they have enough room to put some serious weight on them when my lifting has progressed that far.

If I could do it over again, I might buy the powertech rack from dumbbellbuddy.com ($370 free shipping, dip bars, stronger, black finish instead of white) instead.
