Where to add Power Cleans during westside?

DE upper? i thought DE lower would make more sence.....kind of like doing speed deads. there is no upper body in cleans

shit man there is upper body invloved to get the bar moving, or did you forget you you use your arms to pull the weight up
 
there are a couple of ways to think of the oly's in a wsb split. I think of powercleans as being an "upper" exercise more or less b/c you are not dropping into a full squat so the shoulders back and hips are doing a lot of the work. If you are doing full cleans they definately belong with your de day.

I am also going to start using full cleans and snatches as a me main move.

Heh. Tell THAT to a Olympic lifter.

We don't have a DE day - we just have a snatch/clean day. Like yesterday; although we finished off with jump squats (awesome session, too).

It's a day that's not before/after back or legs; and is a day that has a recovery day before/after.
 
If you are doing WSB, as long as you can recover within 48 hours, it seems smarter to me to do it on DE lower. I do it on upper, but I'm recovering at the speed of light. Lower makes sense because you have 48 hours on either side of that day for recovery. If you do it on DE upper like I do, you end up hitting your legs again for max effort the next day.

Go by feel. :)
 
I agree with Spatts on that one. when I do high-pulls I do them on speed squat day. I will use them instead of speed deads.

thats what i use right now in the place of speed deads, except w/snatch grip and i love em.
 
I generally do olympic lifts on DE lower in place of speed deads.

Sometimes I like to do heavy high-pulls on ME lower after rack deads.

makes perfect sence.......although what type of load and rep range are you using?
