where is "needsize's 5x5 revealed post"?

I cant find needsizes 5x5 revealed post. WTF? I have done a few searches, and none of the link's work. I have a few questions about the routine, such as: the weight is increased by 5 lbs/DB each week. But is the weight increased between each set on the 5x5? I didn't think so, but im confused.

this worries me a little. There were a bunch of mods who quit elite yesterday, and it looks like they are causing as much shit as they can before they are gone for good. I hope the threads didnt get erased as there was a lot of good info in them.
Now the anabolic forum is full of nomination threads for picking new mods

If that's the case (and maybe it's not--who knows) you'd think someone would have changed access rights, passwords, etc., so this couldn't happen.

I'm glad to hear you didn't take it down yourself. I was beginning to wonder if that's what had happened to the others.

Here's to everything settling down. I thought we were all adults.

There are a bunch of threads missing from the anabolic forum, including ones that george spellwin posted, and he doesnt know what happened to them.
I would never take down that thread, I love reading the feedback from members that are getting results with it, or from any training method

I don't use the 5x5, but its principles were the ones that showed me I could lift heavier and increase my weights far more than I had been doing. It's a great program.

EDIT:

I just looked the links to Arioch's How to articles (on the Powerlifting board) are dead, as well.

It looks like all my stickies are either gone or dead. I have access to anything that was on the Asylum server, including the how to squat, etc...articles, but I don't know if I ever saved the methods stickies. Hopefully this is just a glitch.

Geez I was fretting. Thought you had bailed too.

Fuck no. I wish these monkeys would keep their bullshit drama on the chat board so I don't have to lose months and years of hard work. I wasn't around much yesterday, and I come back to this fucked up mess. I posted on the mod board to see what's going on with the training methods. I think I have all the other material copied (active recovery, pics/vids, squat, bench, dead, etc...).

Guess I should have looked here instead of replying to Anya on the WB.

They don't know who they're messin' with. Get 'em!

Whoever's doing this has gone beyond immature.

can anyone my original question? On the 5x5 do you bump up the weights between sets, or do you progressively go heavier each week, or is it both?

This is up at CM...

*******
Our Very own Needsize posted this thread on, I believe two other boards... I wanted to have it here so people can make a quick reference to it when it is referred to in other posts.
==============================================

I'll do my best to try and remember all the elements that make the program work.

The premise of the routine is progressive overload, meaning that every week you are putting increasing amounts of stress on the muscles, generally through small increases in the amount of weight used. The progressive overload forces the body to grow to adapt to the increasing amounts of stress, even though the body really isnt training to failure.

The routine consists of choosing a heavy compound exercise to use for each bodypart, these can include, squat, deadlifts, bench press, close grip bench, standing barbell curls, military press, etc. On top of the initial 5x5, you also choose 2 other exercises, and aim to do 2 sets on each, of 8-10 reps per set.
Here's a sample routine
Chest
Flat bench 5x5
incline dumbell press 2x8-10
incline flyes 2x8-10

The key for me when using this routine is to start light, at weights that you can easily nail your reps and concentrate on form. For example, say you can bench 225lbs for 8 reps, start with 195lbs on the bar. This should be easy, but if you keep your reps slow and in control, you will still get a good pump and have a good workout. Next week, bump up the weight by a SMALL increment, remember the key is to be able to keep adding weight, it's not a race to get to the massive poundages. If you add too quickly you will plateau in a hurry and the routine wont do jack for you. So you hit 5x5 on 195, next week its 200, the week after 205, etc. When you get to a point where you're starting to have trouble hitting your reps, add something extra to help, if you're natural, thats when I would throw in creatine and whatever else as this will help you keep adding weight. If you dont get all 5x5, then do not add more weight next week, stick with the same and the odds are you'll hit it next time you try.

This routine is very effective as it targets fast twitch muscle fibres(5x5) as well as slower twitch(8-10reps) all in the same workout. Generally when done correctly you can gain lots of size as well as some pretty incredible strength all at the same time. I'm only a bodybuilder and dont give a rat's ass about strength, but have hit lifts (ie, deadlift 550lbs for 5 reps) that would allow me to compete as a powerlifter.

let us know what you find out spatts. I am pissed enough about this that if i find out who is responsible, then I plan on going to their own board and raising as much shit as I can, this is just pathetic adolescent behaviour and it has no place here in the training forum of all places. We stay out of all the drama here

Ah fuck!!!! I was JUST starting to read about the whole westside powerlifting and the DC thread and now they're gone????? SHIT!!

Thank goodness I read Needsize's 5x5 before all this shit went down.

Hey Needsize, I'm gonna do your routine starting next week bro. Coming back from an injury (almost 2 months off now) and I'm gonna hit things harder than I have ever done before. This upcoming summer I hope to be in the best shape of my life and I know YOUR routine will help me out bigtime. Diet is now fully in check and that's key.

I have the same problem with arms, so I'm also going to give arms their own day.

What were your other muscle groupings??? Thanks!

Well, most of the posts on the westside sticky are ones I copied from elitefts.com . All the workouts are on there. The only thing missing is questions I've answered, and I can do that again.

I have AR, squat, dead, etc...saved, but I'm not EVEN putting it back up until I know what the fuck is going on.

As for DC, old school, HIT, and 5x5, I don't have any info yet.

You could look them up on google- and copy down the cached version of the threads? (it might take a little to reformat etc)

I suggested this on anabolic board also, i don't knwo if it would work or not...

sorry, won't work, just figured it out... jsut trying to help

apparently they don't have any of the old pages stored- like google just refreshed today- which is weird cause you can usually find and view all kinds of old pages with google...

I saved the squat, deadlift, snatch, and bench articles, as well as all the info from the DC thread and the WSB thread
Its on my comp if you guys dont have copies

Slavik, start a new thread for each the WSB and DC thread, and I will plug the thread back in to the sticky above.

Thank you!!!

Sounds like they'll need the DC info. By all the WSB info do you also mean the Q&A?

Who originally posted the Old School info? I can't remember.

Spatts, It is just the original "how to's" for westside, i think all of the stuff i have is on elitefts.

same with DC, its the diet, training, and original stuff posted by debaser. none of the follow up posts

good job on the needsize thread thx

If people referenced some of the missing threads in another thread (like I did NS's 5x5) then do a search on yourself and the subject and grab the thread # and Google on that with another keyword. It will get rid of a lot of garbage.

WSB thread id= 199162
HST thread id= 247493
Old School thread id= 241130

I think I could find the cached files like above, but it would help to know who the main posters on the thread were....

I am not finding WSB, HST, or Old School, they must be there somewhere though....

Nope can't find them either. Only things I find are threads from here that point back to the missing thread. I don't think you are going to find them on Google. I tired all kinds of combinations.

Someone probably has these saved locally on their machine. I can think of at least one person who would do that sorta thing so there are probably others. Anyhow, EF has GOT to be doing backups. Don't they?

Thx- agreed bro. Hopefully someone has those saved or saved by elite, cause I don't think they are out there anymore...

I think you hit it on the head there when you said they left yesterday. the mods that left didnt delete the posts as they were no longer mods at this site. That being said, I think this training board is pretty cool. i have been lurking at ef for a long time just never posted. with all the drama latley I figures I would join in.
