What's up with that fucked up rap song on the radio that preaches the facts of life?

The opinions on this board are truly fascinating.

I just don't like the song. The first time I heard it, I was like, "What the fuck? Is this some kind of tripped out public service announcement?"

I agree with you there. It's not good hip-hop, and I've never liked anything from NAS that I've heard (which isn't much, admittedly). He, for one, doesn't have a badass image as far as I know (which is fine), but rather a soft, weak, and clean look.

Give me some Mobb Deep, Gang Starr, Common, Roots, or Talib Kweli perhaps.

Nas is an educated BlackPanther type. I like some of his songs, and he was behind the Ochie-Wally-Wally song which talks about running trains on hoes and turning girls out.

but for the most part I can't stand his message.

You figure he would at least try to teach those kids proper grammar. Unfortunately, because of people like him "african(sarcastically said)" americans will never move out of the ghetto and become civilised people unless wealth is given to them and they are pulled out by another, more prosperous group. I personally dont like 95% of white people either but for different reasons and we do not have a very significant portion of our population locked up or on parole.

I just think the song generally sucks shit and it doesn't belong on the airwaves sandwiched in between Eminem and Nelly.

That's just my opinion though.
