what's the worst pain you've ever had

worst pain? there's more, but no1 is; a car. in my face. which sent me flying for about 50 feet. in the hospital, every single bone in my body was bruised. among other things. ever saw the movie the terminator?where at the end the terminator gets crushed? that's how that feels.

1982 at the now defunct 15th Round Gym in Boulder, Colorado. I was working abs one night at about 11:30pm. It was a basement gym and nobody was there. (The guy who owned the gym had gone upstairs to get a sandwich.) I was hanging upside down in inversion boots blasting out sit ups/crunches when ...BLAMO!... something tore in my back. It was like white lightning shooting through me... pure white pain. I couldn't bend up enough to get my feet unhooked... so basically I was crucified upside down. Every time I made even the slightest movement my whole body would spasm and rock with pain... and that would make the pain and spasming worse. I tried to call upstairs... but I was deep in the basement... and the stereo was cranking. I hung there for about an hour... a flopping fish on a line. The pain was so bad I almost went blank a couple times... but I had to keep fighting to stay conscious and in control so that I could try to minimize the spasms. I knew the tear was bad... and I figured the more violently I shook... the worse it could get. Finally, after about an hour the guy who ran the place came back downstairs. He totally freaked when he found me hanging there. He wanted to call an ambulance... but I kept telling him I was okay and I didn't need an ambulance... and that I could walk home. (This was my first lesson in shock. I was in total shock and not capable of making this medical decision on my own. He should have over ruled me.) I literally insisted on trying to make it the three blocks back to my house on my own... strapped on a weight belt to help stabilize me... crawled on my hands and knees up the stairs... and made it about a block before I collapsed on the sidewalk in a foot and a half of snow. Two homeless guys found me there about 10 minutes later and helped me the rest of the way home. It was the longest slowest block I ever traveled.

I couldn't walk for 3 weeks after that... and then rehab for the next 6 months was to be able to walk the 2 blocks to the grocery store by myself. (I also ended up dating the cute grocery store girl 'cuz she got so used to helping me put on and take off my back pack... and sometimes walking beside me as I leaned on her arm to walk.)

It was bad... bad bad bad... an hour of the most agonizing white heat of the sun exploding in my brain... and I've always been very thankful for the experience. It taught me not to be afraid of pain.

Kidney stones...definately
I laid in the ER for 3 hours in total agony before they gave me any type of medication...it was horrible. I had people tell me later that they could hear me screaming all thru the ER

Migraines are pretty close too though...I get an excruciating one at least once a month or so...

:bawling:

In february when I was hit while doing my job. Inferior lip was opened so they had to give me 4 stitches. The problem is: pain killer or whatever they were suppose to give me wasnt working at all so go figure how painful the shit was....

yep, true indeed

physically, I got hit in the eye with the corner of a book, that hurt....and I had the skin burned off of my knee caps on a treadmill accident...then the sores got infected

i had a genital wart burned off with liquid nitrogen, with no sedative or nonthing, that was fucking painful, it was so painful it fucked up my nervous system and caused me to take a shit afterwards. now that hurt. those goddamn hookers not taking care of themselves. the navy was a great experience and sometimes painful.
