whats the longest time youve gone without watching TV

i just realised i havnt used anything bar my laptop, mp3 player and half a dozen novels in the past 3 or so weeks...i found it strange chatting to a girlfriend of mine who schedules her life around her "shows"

anyone else tv-celibate?

i didn't have cable for a year....i would watch the simpsons and seinfeld maybe 3 nights out of the week on my antennae......I finally got cable, and I still don't watch it much

i reckon my longest would be around 3 months (back in my student days)...never been much of a tv person, and when i moved back into home it was a real shock that the damn thing never swiches off!!

Throughout my marriage we never had cable. I only allowed my children to watch limited amounts of TV and it was usually PBS or tapes that I bought. Once I separated my girls' TV time decreased even more, while at their dads that is all they did. For over a month before I moved we had NO TV or VCR (I had to sell them). Guess what? WE NEVER MISSED IT!!! What did we do?

WE TALKED TO EACH OTHER.

Funny thing? Now when I have my girls we are all at my sister's house. NO TV NOW EITHER. With 3 adults and 7 children ages 11 1/2 down to 3 1/2 there is ALWAYS someone to interact with.

(and this goes for video and computer games as well - NADA)

i have a tv but it only has 3 working channels which all suck. i've gone months without bothering to turn it on. the internet is much more entertaining anyways.
