What's Holding You Back??

I don't know 1 bodybuilder, power lifter or any other player in the iron game that is satisfied with where they are at. So what would you say is your biggest factor holding you back? Diet, dedication, reluctance to do cardio, intensity in the Gym, training knowledge, etc etc.

Personally, I have 2 If I am not 100% vigilant with my diet by keeping a daily log, I struggle to consume enough protein.

Also Cardio is hard for me to stay on a program long term and my body does not tolerate any ephedrine or nor-ephedrine products so I son't take any of those. Although, I may try EFX xenadrine, as it is ephedrine free.

if i dont keep a daily log, i eat too much while dieting; dont really have any problems getting my food in when gaining
 
it changes at times. currently im on my biggest cycle ever and im getting lazy as hell. my intensity in the gym is lower than it ever has been and im struggeling to pile down enough calories with my schedule. i need to do some prioritizing.
 
Hmmm....

I'm paranoid about putting on fat. So, I always try to eat clean and when bulking, not eat so much that I'm putting on more fat than muscle. So, I'm hesitant to eat too much (inhibiting bulking perhaps).

Last cycle, I went up to 4,000 cal/day. Tried going up to 4,500 and felt bloated all the time and packed 2 inches on my waist in 1 week, no gains in other measurements, so I dropped back to 4,000.

I'd love to do a hard core cycle to see what results it gets, but obtaining what I need and affording it is one barrier. Another is that I don't want to take excessive amounts of gear, and some cycles that promise big results seem too large in dosage for my comfort zone.

Also, I've accepted that my DNA isn't wired for huge bulk. I'd hate to waste a lot of money on cycles to find out I get minor gains because I'm that way, and I don't want to need to live on gear to keep my size.
 
I would have to say my lifting and training always goes well.....I keep a daily log on my computer and increase my workloads every week.

However, I do think my diet could be better. I dont keep a daily log of what I eat, I just eat when im hungry but make sure to get enough protein in each meal, I eat pretty clean.....
 
INJURIES!!!

Over the 8 years that I have been training (competitive powerlifter) I have endured far too many injuries including:

Right rotator cuf tear (surgically repaired)
L-4 L-5 herniation (2 surgical procedures)
Systemic arthritis
Left knee cartiledge tear and partial miniscal tear (to be repaired in November/December)

as well as all the other nagging things that we all experience (inflamed this, sore that, and an occasional "what the fuck is this lump" kinds of things).

Yah, injuries...
 
nuthing holds be "back" and nuthing ever will; sure friends and family, pull out their ropes and try to slow me, but in the end the rope always breaks in my favour. Injuries prevent me from being an athelete, thats why i BB.
 
I would say it is a little bit of everything. Consistency is probably the biggest factor. My training is probably my strongest point, but I often lack in diet, cardio, and sometimes intensity. I never completely neglect any aspect of my training, but I know I could improve in all areas with the proper dedication.
