i think Mavy is right on the money here....it all depends on the somanotype you are.
you can only speak for your self here.....some people have to work harder to put on mass some have to work harder to loss fat. look at people like term and jubie..they eat anything and are lean as fuck. Im not as lean as those 2 but i basically do the same thing
You got it here bro. There is no one answer to this it will be different for everyone. Its all about genetics, and when people say genetics,... they are referring to their somatotype. Most people know what there dominant somatotype is, by their "body frame", but to fully calculate what percentage you are, its quite an involved process. This seems to be the industry standard for somatotype calculation

What people have to remember is that becuase of genetics, your body is "predetermined" to form a certain way. No one is totally one somatotype, but a combination of all three types. Any body type can be developed with the correct training and nutrition however people with different body types will need to approach their training and nmore importantly DIET with different objectives, even though they may all have the same goals.
If you are a naturally skinny person, you are more than likely dominant ectomorph. Take a peak at the basic traits of an ectomorph vs mesomorph vs endomorph.
The ectomorph: short upper body, long arms and legs, long narrow feet and hands, and very little fat storage, and very little muscle. This body type has a narrow chest and narrow shoulders and long, thin muscles.
The mesomorph: large chest, long torso, solid muscle structure and very strong.
The endomorph: short musculature, round face, short neck , wide hips, and heavy fat storage.
So, if you are a skinny person, you are going to have a MUCH harder time adding the slightest bit of muscle as compared to a mesomorph. And if you do manage to build some, it will be much harder for you to maintain it. This is becuase you are working AGAINST your genetics. You are going to have to work much harder, and take in much more cals, especially more protien than a true mesmorph would. This is why some people are very astonished when they see others diets. For example, I was very surprised to see galaxies' diet the other day when he posted it. I would have thought that there would have been more protein and carbs in the diet. You can tell from it, and his pics, that muscle comes easier to him (not saying your not busting your ass bro - lol), than a lot of others. This is why genetics is so key, especially for people who compete. Look at Arnold, do you think his genetics worked in his favour. This is also why to achieve the same look, NO ONE DIET OR TRAINING REGIME WILL WORK FOR EVERYONE. This is why people grow bigger muscles than you on half the calories, or are more shredded than you on double your calories. This whole questions comes down to what your genetics are like, for which you find easier.
