i don't own a home, so no, i'm not a baller. I can afford either, but I try to limit my total monthly expense (I'd be buying this car cash).

$20 per week = over $1000 per year. Even if I make 100K, that's 1% of my income gone just because of my vehicle choice!
you are right. that's a good analysis.
and that's 1% of your pre-tax income. It's actually more of your actual take home pay huh.
I guess it depends on what you expect your income to be in the future. which I know is a total unknown for most

dude who knows man! I just assume it will grow at 5% per year, that much I'll guarentee myself. After that its all gravy. With how career paths go I could promote to a certain level and cap out just over 100K, or if I can get up to Director level or above, its 250K+ to skies the fuckin limit!

I'd never leverage agaist expected earnings though, just not my style, more conservative fiscally. (I save over 1/2 of my take home).

Is the lexus a 4 door?

I gotta have 4 doors on a daily driver.
agreed. I have a couple now. Fun daily driver (1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse) but it sucks going anywhere with more than one passenger. 4 door is a must, also AWD is ALMOST a must for me because then I could put a rack on top and roll up to the mountains with 4 people easy.

Good job. Building the old E-trade account huh.
Although I'd say if you save half your take home, you could probably afford a home anywhere in the US except where you live, or Manhattan. hahaha, sucks I know.

M5.

with the m5 be prepared to toss in a clutch as the clutches are a known weak spot on the m5 and they do happen to go out quite early. (common)

oil changes will be 150 a piece. an inspection will be $1000-1500 every 15-20k miles.

with the M5 budget for about 3,000- 3,500 a year for upkeep (tires, brakes, oil changes, inspections, clutch, arm brushing etc)

That M5 is a classic and sweet ride.

I would tell you to get the Lexus because it's new, has AWD and does better gas mileage.

You could also look at a new Audi quattro.

If you're a knowledgable performance driver, the M5.

If you don't clip every apex already, get the Lexus.
