What would quickly relax your central nervous system after training?

Okay, you know the feeling. You've finished training your Butt off and you feel like $1m. You're driving home and you're so proud of your lifts. Add onto that the cycle your doing and you feel every bit of that pump. However, its now 11pm and you just cannot sleep. You toss and turn and by around 2am you drift off. You wake up the following morning feeling a little tired, in a lttle bit of a bad mood, but you carry on. Then you train again and the whole process starts again! Only the follwing day you're a little more tired, a little more grumpy, and you just can't relax. Its now affecting you at work and your relationships, but all you want to do is train.

Is there anything you would recommend someone on/off cycle to take that would help them to relax quickly and sleep.
 
What time are you training at? Try to fix timing issues before resorting to drugs.
 
I train from 6.30pm-7.30pm and then have a drive home of about 20 minutes. I'm going to buy some hot drinks and see if that works. I see there is a similar post on here about sleeping. Its more getting myself to relax and chill that I'm concered as I am way too active after training.
 
Anyway you can train earlier? I usually train around 4pm then get back around 6 take care of food and other crap then go to bed around 9-10.

Its possible that I might be able to do something like train Friday night, Sat & Sun morn. Thats 3 days. I like to do a 5 day week in the gym. Its those other 2 days that are the killer. I could sneak off early on one of the days for a 5pm session and maybe just cut my training down to a 4 day week.

Big_BK, you're the man! K going in your direction! I just hope that an hour earlier will make the difference. My problem is just being hyper after a workout.

I know what you're going to say to this cuz everyone sez the same thing, but when I changed to "before work training" (5:45-ish) it cured this problem.

I guess it depends on what you do, my industry is busier after 5pm than B4.

Or, a nice topper when you get home from the gym should relaxxxxxxxx you...

i workout in mornings, wake up eat wait two hours get everything in water etc.. 30 min pre workout take my preWO supps, and away u go , u feel great for rest of day and i sleep like a baby
 
some times i get like that ..hit a dub a few times and im out in 15 minutes...better then sleeping pills
 

Sex with an 18 year old nympho for a few hours, works better then Thorazine.

Hope you're doing your cardio... they can really wear a fella out.

make your last meal of the day a huge Tuna or Turkey Sandwich, both have tryptophan try some herbal teas with Chamomile there are many brands that are sold as sleep aids and many work. Also valerian root or Kava root extrats, raw root, or supplements can be used. I have used both myself and I like kava best, you can buy the root from internet and mash it coffee grinder. Then you take the root and get some cheese cloth. Put the ground root in the cheese cloth and soak it and work it with your hands for about 5 minutes, drink a few cups of this and you will sleep like a baby

No problem just here to help. Do you take any stims like an energy drink, ephedrine, etc. before you workout? This is usually the number one cause. I wouldn't take anything after 4pm that is a stim, even soda when you get home. Like i said though, try working out a little earlier in the day and see what that does for you.
 
I have just given up smoking and do have a few probs. I am on 50mgs of dbol and 500mgs of test. I train as soon as I finish work at around 6pm for an hour. Get home 10 mins later, carb drink, protein drink, then a meal 40 minutes later then either a can of tuna/or some chicken before bed at 10 or a shake. I don't have a problem getting to sleep but I do wake up once or twice in the night. Go to the bathroom / or get some water then back to bed.

+1 on the valerian and i usually drink a mix of 1/2 chamomile and 1/2 St. John's Wort tea...does the trick for me!
