My high school has integrated a program that starts in middle school to get them on track for level one classes. I didn't go to middle school in that district so I was placed in level 2 which is where the avg kids go. I got straight A's, played hockey, and worked. I never had time to do drugs.
I got into the National Honor Society and the teacher in charge of it hated me b/c I was not an AP student, going to college right after graduation. She couldn't stand the fact that a smart kid from the city, who went to construction class, played hockey instead of lacrosse, and was going into the military got the same "honor" bestowed upon him as her precious college bound kids. At first I almost didn't get in b/c I didn't have enough community interaction points; however, made the "cut" when I picked up my 5th tour as Cpt for my hockey team. I didn't want to get in for me. It meant something to my mom, and I loved the hatred that the teacher felt for "my type".
