What was your favorite candy growing up?

Remember the red hot BB's that came in a tube much like Copperhead BB's for the bb gun.

Twix when it first came out.

Now and Laters

Bubble gum card packs (Star wars, James Bond, The Hulk, etc...)

smarties

Reeses Pieces

Regular Sweettarts were a favorite of mine. They used to come in an envelope like M&Ms. The sugar-coated ones that come in a roll now just aren't the same.

But I think my favorite was the Sugar Daddy.

I was also fond of candy orange slices, plain M&Ms, Kraft Carmels, cherry sours... And there was one called "Zotz" which were small hard fruit candies with some kind of soda powder inside, so that they fizzed when you got to the middle. Okay, I had a sweet tooth.

I ate a whole bag of Reeses Pieces at the movies on Sat.

You are correct about the Sweettarts being better in the envelope bag.

Sugar Daddy's were awesome, but I always would get my teeth stuck together by biting down on one.

I liked Zotz as well. The fizz was the best part of the candy.

I would get candy cigarettes every day after school and those gum balls that were filled with a candy center. I can't remember what they were called.

I love zotz best hard candy ever,I use to get them every year for halloween, now Im to old to go out

but store bought stuff,I always loved whoppers, nothing beat those little bastards

My favorite was the Chunky bar. It was a big squared chocolate bar with raisins I believe. Do they still make those?

I have not seen those in years. those were good.

Did any of you ever get the wax candy with the sugar water in them?

We used to alwayg get the candy cigarettes, and walk around the neighborhood like we were smoking. We thought we were so cool.

Lemonheads
Now and Laters
Jolly Ranchers
dips ( I think they were called, where you dip a stick in sugars stuff)

those were Dip'n Sticks. Were'nt there three pouches of different flavored powders, and a sugar dipping stick? I loved that stuff.

AAP: gag, Smarties are awful. They taste like biting into women's cosmetics. Or as Johny Juice said recently, "like sweet chalk."

I made the mistake of buying a bag of Smarties recently because some old powerlifters told me they were 100% dextrose and, therfore, a convenient way to get some post-workout carbs. But you have to eat a lot of them to get a reasonable amount of carbs, I think it's only 6g/roll. And they're nasty.

I would not put that thing in my mouth. :worried:
