I used to lift starting around 7:30 am - 8:30 am (I get into work at 10:30 am) until my squat got relatively huge. The gym near my house does not have a power rack, so I don't like squatting there anymore. As such, I've changed my workout time (at least on squat days) to 8pm and I just hit the branch on the way home from work which does have a power rack.
I would much rather lift in the mornings, though.
