Too many acronyms and symbols to remember these days. Einstein would be horrified, had he lived to see this.

Was CCE the Commission for Environmental Cooperation? It's the best Google seems to offer if I discount Coca Cola Enterprise inc.

I don't get out much. :)

It was accualy 'CE' in a different font...I never knew what it stood for, but our company had to comply to some rediculous set of standards in order to bear the logo on our products.

My angle on the whole thing when confronted with it, was "Do you want to build cars Monday morning...or do you want to argrue global fucking standards....the choice is yours." (silence)

Not alot of choices there...so usually, the customer walks away in a huff, and 10 minutes later I get a call from my boss...."Will you PLEASE try to be reasonable??"

Standards are fine...and I'll follow them without arguement, provided they don't change every couple of days

you need that for Europe... It states that certain security (specially for electrical or industrial equipment) and health-related regulations are met. Funny thing is that this mark has no value for companies outside the EU... so I wonder why your company worked for this?

One of the most common meanings is "C onformität mit E uropa"

Then that is the reason. Most likely they use those tools in Europe as well and since the company owned by an European majority you can say it is indeed an European company, so they need it.
