The weight didn't feel that heavy, but my pec tendon couldn't handle it that day. I never thought that I would have such a serious injury. I learned the hard way. That soreness just means you're not well-conditioned. If you were to bench twice a week you'd almost assuredly not get sore after a bit of acclimation. The fact that you get sore every time means you probably recover TOO much b/t sessions and lose the increased capacity you should have accumulated.
