I'm talking the pros you see on TV like in UFC/Pride or for Boxing like on HBO ppv's and stuff
are we talking serious cash if you are one of the greats?
or do you pretty much make enough to survive and you have to be in it for the love of the game?
MMA fighters don't make nothing compared to top boxers. I heard top UFC fighters like Randy Couture make like 6 low 6 figures. I heard Pride pays more but there are no million dollar purses like there are in boxing.
If you are a low ranked pro you could make anywhere from $200 to at most 5k per fight for MMA. Maybe it will change one day but right now boxing is where the money is at.
quick someone find a boxing promoter and ask him!
I would think they may be a little nervous about the grappling factor
cus if a boxer went to a UFC fight and got tapped out they might be nervous about boxing looking 'bad' and loosing some crowd interest
no idea if that is how it would happen but I can see people being nervous over that
is it difficult to turn pro
I don't mean like the fighting I mean like is it difficult if you have the talent to turn pro
do you have to be talented and lucky or can you get in on talent and ability
If you're a good boxer, I don't think even yourself would want to run the risk of injury if fighting MMA. Boxers can make some good money, especially if you can get on the undercard at a PPV event. And don't forget sponserships!
Boxers aren't allowed b/c they are under contract with a particular promoter and it would be too big of a risk for them to get hurt. Besides they really wouldn't stand much of a chance in a MMA competition.
