what iv noticed about not doing a "peak contraction"

Sub-Zero

High End Bro

so this whole peak contraction and FLEXING the muscle throughout the excersise is really cool.

but its also showing me how fucked up my body was before. id say im a decent size but a huge flaw in my physique is that my fascia was too stiff to flex all the way and i didnt train too.

i guess i wasnt fully contracting muscles when throwing around all taht heavy weight, because now that im doing the omega project i can literally feel the weakness in the way i used to workout, and will be standing there and feel my legs and quads and glutes flexx real hard just standing there, feel a bad(good) stretch in my muscle tissue and then my lowerback pain will be gone. or my posture will feel awsome and perfect and ill just feel so strong.

now ill look in the mirror and try and flex into positions i just simply thought my body couldnt flex into, and feel everything stretch and just feel alot better.

id say my favorite part of this program is how great it feels to do "real" lifting witht he muscles instead of bitching around the weight.

one of the main things im going to take from this program and apply to all my future routines is the idea of fully flexing and working the muscle, and being super form concious so i dont go back into the stiff unflexible asshole i sometimes feel like.

anyone else have similar experiences in switching from throwing around super heavy weight and having a stiff body that couldnt completely flex, to what i described??

by the way, this isnt a knock on powerlifting, because i love powerlifting. its just in doing powerlifting i started neglecting form too much, which is retarded of me. i wasnt flexing all the way at the top of a squat for example, and i lost touch of the idea that the muscles move the weight, and started just focusing on only moving the weight and increasing the numbers

I have not really been doing this too much, we are supposed to flex the whole time through the rep ?? That would make it pretty tough or weird, I have enough doing the counts of reps, and thinking the 2 second up and 2 second down count, and then add to that flexing all the muscles while going up and down; wow should I try that ??

Bro, you definitely want to be flexing.......its key, So don't try it, do it from now on. I sucked at it at first, but now it makes my workout so much more intense. I love flexing on flys.

Oh yeah just flex at the top. aka "peak"

Yes Flexing is Key
Pea contraction is part of HOW the muscle develops

it is very much like carving stone

the way i think of this style of training is that each time we do an excerise, we arnt DOING the excersise, but rather USING resistance to make FLEXING harder.

think about posing, or flexing or just squeezing your entire body till your face turns red and veins pop out everywhere. we are doing that, but adding resistance to it in the structure and safety of "excersises".

so I basically I need to be flexing and making my veins pop the whole time through out the rep ?? That will be a nice change to get use to and concentrate on doing

not veins , just feel the muscle full engage at the top

I think I have been doing that, I go 2 seconds up and flex and then 2 seconds down, all nice and smooth slow good form, but I have NOT been popping my viens out or really flexing every muscle in my body while performing a set, no not been doing that

lol you cant actually pop your veins out thats an exageration. if your flexing the muscle youre working and concentrating on it your doing it right

holy fucking balls, I was doing this yesterday with calf raises on heavy, and on my last rep I actually cramped up my calf!

gah that sucked, haha.

ha yeah be careful on that:)

thats why I have you all do a first round nice and light:)

fuck I fucked up then, cause I did heavy first instead of light "doh"

but I did it without my shoes which was WAAAY better because I wasn't getting the cramps in my feet, I do calves and squats in my socks, since I have running shoes.

yeah i have to be careful on calves too, i use alot less weight than i can handle because my calves are genetically weak and im literally crippled for weeks if i stretch the fascia too much at once
