have you graduated with your engineering degree yet? Engineering is the highest paying undergrad degree that exists, so hopefully that will lessen the blow of a 5k/month life.

my brother saved 600/month when he was living on 1100/month with his wife. net income 1700/month, they spent 1100, saved 5k in 6 months.

about $1200 per month for rent, groceries, and utilities. I am not going to include cable and satellite as they are not necessities.

Rent: $1,200 (Moving into new appartment.)
babysitter: $480
Food/diapers ect... $450
CarPayment & Insurance: $550
Gym membership: $50
Train(to/from NYC) $192
Utilities: $80
Protein Powders and supplements: $100
Thats before any other random expenses that come with having a baby.

seriously... clothing is my fucking downfall...

Yes!! I graduated last summer!! :)

And I was lucky enough to get a job in engineering at the company I was already employed for...

Most of my bills are for house payments and property taxes...and of course the monthy speeding ticket...lol.

but how much do you people bank after all is said and done each month?

It totally varies.

I usually will use excess funds to pay off mortgages orother related debts...average?

aim for 10K / month saved
