Wolves as well for me, they have a very structured enviroment, discpline, loyalty, travel in packs, take care of their young, I can only wish people were more like them....

great white sharks

soooooo much power it's unbelievable. the are very mysterious and arguably the greatest natural predator. plus they're descendants of the carcharadon megaladon species (basically an 80 foot prehistoric great white shark). it would be incredible to get in one of those cages and see one up close and personal.
 
Prehistoric sharks and crocodiles are HUGE unbelievable beings. If I remember correctly the fossilized skull of the largest prehistoric croc found was 12 feet long? This ended up making it some 45-50ish feet long, I can't recall but the model that they made was ungodly huge, a human would easily fit in its mouth without even trying.

Its estimated bite power was some 10,000 pounds of force, maybe more, I wish I could remember :(
 
I love cats :kitty: I think they are fascinating creatures.

I have a real interest in marine reef fish. I like all kinds - angels, tangs, blennies, anything really. I have a 200gal aquarium, the powder bluw tang i have is my fav. Boach has a kickass reef also.
 
Thats quite a tank, I think my dad's is 110 gal or something. Larry Ellison apperantly has quite the tank also.
 
The SuperCroc at the San Diego Wild Animal Park is 40 feet! HUGE croc. That would eat a couple people like they were pretzels. Then a Megaladon would jump out of the water and eat the SuperCroc! Oh no!! Look Out!

Scientists recently discovered a prehistoric bird that had it lived in modern times would be able to swoop down and eat people. Pretty crazy. Hey, look out- here comes a giant bird!! You would have to duck behind your car until it flew off.
 
Just how fucking small do you feel in the presence of such a beast. As for megalodon eating the croc, I doubt it, would be one hell of a fight though :)

When the food got smaller, so did the predators...
 
Well my favorite animal in the wild is The Elephant. They are big and powerful, highly intelligent, family oriented, never forget. People look at me funny when I say that, but they just seem so majestic to me.

As far as domestic animals I am a dog lover. English Mastiff's to be more precise. Once again large and powerful, very protective of thier family, completely affectionate but not high maintenance. A wonderful family animal.
 
An elephant scarred the crap outta me at the zoo a couple weeks ago. My girl and I were watching this male and he was being bad. He was leaning over the fence and grabbing the irrigation system tubing and yanking it. Then he would chew it up. So...he was leaning WAY over the fence, balancing on his back foot and then security shows up and moves people away- there was some dumb kid really close to it and trying to touch the elephants(HELLO, it could crush you like a doll!) and when security got there the elephant made this horrible growling noise like he was a monster or something. I was like, damn! Scarry noise. Obviously the elephant does not like security too much. They shouldn't be kept in captivity but they are going extinct in the wild. They most likely will be exctinct in the wild within our lifetime. That sucks. Stupid poachers.
 
When elephants are ready to bang elephant chicks (whatever thats called), they get very belligerant, and thats when they fight the most with each other even against the larger males.

The thing that pisses me off about poachers amongst other things is they only kill them for the ivory. And as we all know, the older animals have the bigger tusks. If any of them had half a brain, or any compasion for the animal they could just set up Elephant farms and wait for them to die of natural causes, a win win situation. Only problem with that is that Elephants have such a long life span.
 
why the hell don't the poachers simply tranquilize the elephants first, then saw off the ivory? it might take a little longer but at least they aren't killing the animal.

Poachers dont give a flying fuck. When the mother elephant is killed the babies die because they cant fend for themselves. So killing one turns into 4-5. They even shoot the babies too sometimes for the hell of it. There is very little money to stop the poachers. I just saw a show on discovery about these aerobatic pilots from the US that donated their skills to teach the anti-poacher pilots how to avoid gun fire. Pretty sad when they are shooting down the anti-poachers in addition to their poaching. The Bushmeat issue is the same deal- the locals eat gorrilas because they dont have any food. Isn't that crazy that someone hasn't done something to stop that shit? Eating gorillas? what in the fuck. The stupid Japs are still whaling. Morons.
 
They claim they do it for science only, yet its still a valued delecacy so I doubt it.

those poachers are ignorant fucks.
 
The #1 reason elephants are poached is because the ivory is ground up and used in Japanese medicine. The japs still use it regularly for allot of herbal shit. Its messed up.
 
poachers = yet another job for a sack-wielding vigilante gang, but since they have guns, we could have stingers and the like.
 
I like all kinds of animals.

But my favorite is the frog...
There's nothing like having a pond right out side your kitchen window,
and seeing small frogs just show up and start living there and grow to
be a bull frog..

I love seeing them swim around with the koi and gold fish.
