What is the real reason wcw folded?

I saw that wwe produced speical on it and i know that was bullshit. What is the real reason i remember as late as the end of 2000 nitro was still beating raw at the ratings.

WCW dropped hard and fast. They overpaid wrestlers, and lost control of everything.

They stopped beating WWE in the ratings war, and when they lost it, they lost it. Their ratings were lower than they were before Hogan went to WCW.

Russo tried to save it... but he's just a shitplug, so it didn't make a difference.

And I don't believe Nitro was still winning the ratings war in late 2000.

Politics played a role, but there were politics in the WWE at the time too. I look at 2 things, Vince Mchanon's mind for the business and the fact WCW didn't have one person in charge of whole was the final say. That's the downfall of being part of a corporation. Also WCW had one really good angle, the NWO. They totally ran that into the ground and had nothing else.

I'm not really watching wrestling much these day because WWE seems to suck like WCW did. I did catch Wrestlemania. It was pretty good.

Wcw was around for a pretty long time like 10-11 years. And hogan was part of wcw since 93 or 94 . i rmeber reading in e magazine where they list tv ratings nitro beat raw.

The wwe is no suffering because there making the same mistakes wcw made. There buying name brand wrestlers instead of developing there own from no names. the last time wwe was this deep in shit was 92-94. When vince was being investigated for steroids, hogan,savage left to wcw , ultimate warrior got fired due to the steroid scandel.
So howd they fix it they brought in no names and developed them guys like the rock,stev austin was a shitty no name in wcw before coming to wwe, triple h etc they developed there own guy they need to do that again. One of the most popular wrestlers now is brock lesnar and he was a pet project.

For a while, WCW did beat WWE in the ratings. When the NWO was big, especially when Goldberg came around and was going up against them, and the Sting/Hogan fued... yeah... WCW was doing extremely well. That's why they paid their wrestlers so dang much.

WWE is doing alright now... Angle is one of their own, Austin, Rock, Lesnar, Triple H... their top guys are WWE made... and they are working on their younger guys.

Hogan is the man. He STILL sells tickets, man.

the time warner buyout of turner was what did away with wcw. tv deals were pulled and bischoff had a group trying to buy wcw but when tnt pulled the plug on nitro he had really no avenue for the product. vince came in and bought wcw for $100 grand i think, mainly just for the name and some video library and misc. equipment.

The real reason is because Ralphus didn't get more airtime.

What an obvious screw up.

i also think that having david arquette become the wcw champion probably put an irreversable curse on the whole operation.
