What is the difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist?

I question the premise of this thread.

One term relates to goals, the other to methods. Someone could be one, both, or neither, and which of these combinations applies wouldn't necessarily say anything about the justifiability of his actions.

nerd.lol

I can tell you the difference between a "freedom fighter" and a "rebel" is if they win, they were "freedom fighters".

A terrorist is a piece of shit regardless of their cause because they've chosen to take the fight to non-combatants.

A fire fighter fights fire.
A crime fighter fights crime.
A freedom fighter fights for freedom.

Enough said.

You had a typo.

I believe our Founding Fathers were regarded either as freedom fighters or terrorists (Boston Tea Party) or....those damned rebels.

Whoops. I said UA instead of HS. I meant to say you. Do you take k donations?

"Freedom fighter" is what they call themselves.

"Terrorist" is what we call em.

just a point of view.

The American Revolutionaries were called "terrorists" by over 60% of the colonists.. who in the beginning were loyalist. It wasnt till a few years later when we started winning battles that they changed their minds.

Mark my words. It will happen again and sooner than most people think.

If ANY of you are still under the illusion that America is in any way a Democracy, you are either extremelty naive' or brainwashed.

A Freedom fighter declares war with words and anticipation so you can prepare yourself and defend your interests.

A terrorist kill your weak and innocent people first trying to cause terror and fear on you so instead of going to war he thinks you will surrender to anything before combat.

But history has proven so far that one of the biggest mistake somebody can do is mess with a Freedom fighter. They killed near 3,000 Americans on 9/11 and last time I heard, since 2001 more than 40,000 arabs have died from American bullets and bombs.
