What is a "raw" bench?

Excuse my ignorance, what does it mean when someone says my "raw" bench is 425? I don't get the raw part?

scot mendelson gets a little more than 100lbs out of shirt. its probably more like 3-400lbs. train right, and you can easily add 100lbs to your RAW bench.

RAW means no wrist wraps ,elbow wraps, gloves, bench shirts ,belts ,knee wraps, ankle wraps or support for bench press.deadlifts and squats.
I even seen one time them make a guy remove his braclets and jewlery who the fuck knows why.

We had a lift at out local gym a real lift meet. It was great the guys from the gym that were the big lifters sighned up .Well they were not aware of the break , lower lift lock out system with green lights. they were used to lowering weight dropping it on their chest and bouncing it up ass their ass hovered above the bench .one black dude benched 475 and used to show off well he entered the event and non of his lifted counted becuase they were not controled on his last attempt he pressed 375 and only had 2 out or 3 lights green becuase he could not keep his ass on the bench. Its amazing how much weight guys can actually lift during a meet vs just slinging shit around in the gym my how things change

We have guys at our gym the same way!! It"s funny to watch 200lb guys with a bench shirt on only get 315lbs with correct form. LOL
