Thanks for asking. I didn't wan't to respond on the original thread because it seemed to digress into a three page pissing match.

I came out of retirement to work with a really cool company for a while. They are putting desperately needed medical equipment into China hospitals for SARS patients. We are sort fo racing against the clock. Though SARS has disappeared now... the belief is strong that it is seasonal and will be back with cold weather. Many of the hospitals in China are very very poor. They don't even have basic equipment, much less advanced repiratory machines, MRI's etc... So we are working to get equipment donated, other equipment discounted, etc... and to raise donations.

Last winter the situation was very bad. There were literally infected kids left out in the hallways at some of the Chinese hospitals. They had SARS and NO treatment at all... not even a room with a bed. Some of the kids were just left there to hack till they went blue. It was very sad.

I'll be scarce for a while, but it is really a privileage to be a part of this project, and I'm having a lot of fun.

I think he was thinking of Bengal... we used to have a friend who was bengali, and we used to joke him about the tigers eating people over there.... I think they are almost extinct now...
