What graphics card should I get?

With Doom 3 and Half-life 2 on the horizon, I realize I need to upgrade my rig somewhat. I've got a Geforce 64MX at the moment, and it does an ok job...but I have a hard-on higher resolutions and super-fast frame rates.

Top of the line these days seems to be the GeForce FX and the various Radeon 9800 models, although both are a tad pricey.

So what should I get?

The ATI Radeon 9600 and 9200 Series are not as good as the 9800 but good enough to play to these games

just got me a nvidia 5700 ultra for about 2 bills.Does a great job for me.

dont get any at all until doom 3 actually arrives- then youll see a huge price drop, as well as the second hand market flooded with cards from people who recently upgraded

if you buy now you will waste a lot of money and kick yourself later...i used to belong to a large gamers organisation and i have seen it over and over and over again
