What does 'vascularity' actually mean?

I know that it means that you can see a lot of your veins and arteries through the skin, but what does it mean, is it healthy or not?
I have a friend who is skinny and I only noticed recently that he isn't vascular at all, now i just assumed that if you had a low BF% then you would be quite vascular?!?!?
Any help is appreciated!

I have posted this on the Diet board aswell because I didn't really know whether it was down to your diet or training

thats why I am asking, I wanna know what it means if you are vascular, what is actually happening inside the body and why.

dont your veins get bigger to get more blood pumping to the muscles and partsof the body?

even non vascular people get vien poppage when lifting, because more blood is needed in the muscle, so it goes there, spreading the vein out...i think the more vascular you are, the more your body is sending blood... so if your huge muscularly, you need more blood, so to keep up, you get veins too, that send the blood to the muscles.

being low bf lets u see em better i think because theres nothing to come up around it, its just the veins against hard bone and muscle, so they show up more

See, I have this other friend and he doesn't work out ever, he smokes, he drinks, he does drugs and he's got a pretty good BF% (I'd say about 7-8%), and he's vascular as fuck, I mean, all the way up his arms going into his biceps all over his hands and I'm like how the fuck do you get like that?

"Vascular" is simply an adjective to describe how lean someone is based on how visible that person's viens are. That's it. It has nothing to do any sort of bodily system function.

If you rule out diet and lifestyle, the only thing left is genetics.

genetics plays a big role. I have lost some BF recently and i am definetly the most vascular i have ever been
