What does a rotator cuff injury feel like?

I was doing bb rows this morning and all of a sudden it felt like someone stabbed me right behind the front delt region. It didn't necessarily hurt when I tried benching but I felt this intense tightness in my shoulder. The pain keeps pulsating from my trap to my elbow. Had to go to a centra care b/c my pcp was booked and he put me on muscle relaxers and painkilers. He said to give it a couple days and if it's still hurting to go see a ortho. From anyone that has experience with this tye of injury, do you think it may be a strain or a possible rotator injury? I am waiting on my first cycle to arrive but it looks as if I'm going to have to put that off for a while. :(

Do you have problems elevating your arm up or out to the side from a standing relaxed position?

I dont know that BB rows directly put as much stress on the RC as would say benchpressing or flys would but its possible.

Chances are you may have pulled a rear delt muscle or if the pain is moving along the side of your body like you say very possible you injured a muscle around the back of your neck.

In any event have it looked at asap.

Peace,
WCP

Thanks. I don't have any pain elevating my arm, only when I put it in a position like I was doing squats for instance or if I'm mimicking throwing a baseball. If it doesn't feel any better by tomorrow I'm going to get a referral to go to an ortho

As Wcp said pulling or rowing movements do not put as much strain on the rotator cuff as pushing movements. The movement of throwing a baseball is often used by trainers and doctors to check for ratator cuff injuries. I would get it checked out by a shoulder specialist asap. The longer you wait the harder it is to repair, if needed.
